My 'E' has about 2500 miles on it. it was raining on the way home tonight and I put the wipers on. At stops I could feel a slight throb/tap in the brake pedal that was in time with the speed of the wipers. Not an abs type tap. Car was at complete stop and in drive.

Anyone else notice this?

Does this seem weird to anyone?

Thanks for any advice.

I can feel the wipers in my brakes as well. Not sure how these two parts of the E are connected...? I've also noticed that the internal lights dim when I turn on the air conditioning or defrost (which turns on the air conditioning.) Anyone else? Any explanations?

I would assume that the relay for the wipers is located in proximity to the brake pedal...and since everything uses power...and in this case from the same source, the draw on power causes a temporary throb in the power brakes. Listen for the 'click' when the wipers are on intermittent. That's the relay.

When the air conditioner comes on...the condenser sucks some power for a second, so the lights will dim. Pretty normal. My old cavalier used to do the same thing.

Also note that on EX models there's the ABS system. Part of that system is the Kickback circuit. The vibration from the brake pedal when ABS engages is *not* mechanically sourced: it's electronically actuated to give you the feedback that the system has been activated.

Perhaps this is getting triggered a bit for some reason?
