Just wondering if anybody on the boards has had a chance to purchase and install the new XM Commander system?

I really like the look of this system. It definitely seems to match the Element's interior quite well. I want to get one but just can't figure out where it would fit, and look, the best. I'm really not into the brackets, exposed wires, etc. that seem to come with the other systems on the market.

Has anyone taking the time to install one of these in a very "clean" fashion? If so, any pics?

Sorry to seem so picky, but I'm just an anal SOB:)

Thanks!
Steve

They mounted it in top of the subwoofer under the shifter. I think it looks great. I also had them replace the fm modulator with a plug I got at radioshack it is a y plug 2 rca plugs to a 1/8 sterio plug, it comes thru the dash below the aux jack. It sounds great and allowes me to plug in a mp3 player if I decide to get one. :D

My girlfriend got me the XM Commander for Christmas, but I haven't installed it yet. Do you happen to have a way to post a pic of your install? I was thinking of putting the faceplate in the same location as well. I just don't want any visible wires anywhere, if at all possible.

Thanks!

I don't have the Commander, but I just installed the XM Roady which is similiar. I devised a homemade bracket so it pivots out of the overhead bin and hangs just below the door when deployed. I had two goals: (1) nothing visible from outside to tempt anyone to break in and (2) make no permanent damage/holes in the E. I accomplished this by hiding wires behing the headliner and various panels. No pictures yet - at least until I refine the deployment bracket somewhat. Please tell me how your Commander install was accomplished.
