My USC Trojans would beat your Tide.

it would be like Men vs Boys.

The tide is indeed showing signs of old. Nick Saban is a great coach, we were lucky to have him in B.R. for a while.

Even at home in Baton Rouge...I'm hoping for just a non-embarrasing loss next weekend. Georgia's a good team, but LSU should have been able to contain them at home.

Texas...lets see what happens against Texas Tech tonight. Ok State showed they're beatable. If that was a road game UT would have gone down last Saturday.

USC...west coast football vs SEC football  Somebody's been reading too many of their own press packages.

Is Bama now #1? :D

I will admit...the only team that I'm worried about is Florida in the SEC championship game.

Pffft. I'll bet Nebraska could. The only reason we ever loose is because if we didn't everyone would complain and we'd wind up in our own conference.

Yeah but they're busy playing volleyball at the moment. The swim team accidentally got sent to Norman yesterday.:-P

ohhhhhhh my...that one cost me a few years. Arrrgh, what a game for our other QB to be injured. 7 interceptions returned for TD's by opponents in a single season...total Busch league stuff. Next year AL.

Oh well, if it can't be LSU at least it's an SEC team at the top of the pile instead of them West Coast wankers...or freakin' Texas.

Alabama has always been more a defensive team than an offensive one. Even when they could, they didn't run up the score just to improve the stats.
Besides, they're #1 where it truly counts

If you listen to the people around where I live (and I don't subscribe to their views, of course) Boise State could beat anyone! Man were people pissed around here the last time they went undefeated and their weenie schedule didn't afford them the opportunity to play for a national championship. Good old Boise State and their astounding football ignorance.

I went to Idaho and Washington State as an undergrad (two of the very worst football schools in I-A or the FCS or whatever it's called this year), so I can't talk much about football at all. At least Iowa, where I went to grad school, is bowl eligible this year.

Did Mike Price ever pay 'Bama back for misuse of company funds, by the way? He was kind enough to leave the Cougs when he should have been psyching them up for a Rose Bowl against Michigan...

You can't really mean that....So did every other 1 loss team. They barely beat unranked Kentucky and Mississippi and almost lost in OT against LSU. That is NOT "Whooping" anybody.......

All week I felt that Florida could beat the Tide. The defense isn't that great. The offense depends on the defense keeping the other teams offense off the field. Not the case with Florida this year.

Now the debate begins about the championship. I predict Oklahoma and Texas. Texas should win that.......good game either way.

LOL. Anybody who knows me will tell you that most of my posts has a touch of sarcasm to it. This whole thread was not meant to be arrogant, it was just all in fun...except beating Auburn, of course. Alabama has never been a high-scoring, razzle-dazzle team. They usually play just hard enough to win. My biggest gripe about our defense is that they are more concerned with making a huge hit than they are about bringing the guy down. Luckily a lot of our weakest links are seniors, and we have a LOT of freshmen talent. Just wait til next year :D

I predict Florida defeats Oklahoma for the title.

'bama is a fine example of what better than average players can do with GREAT motivation and coaching. No Heisman or Outland candidates and they put up a hell of a season. Ol' Miss fans know how incredible that victory in the swamp was...Tebow's a hard guy to beat, especially at home, and he's more than a little motivated this year.

I was hoping it went the other way, though I doubted it, so Florida might have matched up against UT. You think Texas Tech ate Texas' defense up, Tebow would have embarrased them. 'bama and OU are both grind it out and see who turns it over first teams, would have been a great matchup. It would have been awesome to show what comes from a REAL conference to the the Big 12 yahoo's around these parts.

I don't know what the heck those BCS clowns are thinking putting 'bama against Utah and Texas against Ohio State. I think most of the country would like to see #3 & #4 go head-to-head as much as #1 & #2 this year.

Looks like half the prediction is confirmed. All though I was shocked considering the SEC hype and the Tim Tebow infomercials ESPN was playing all week.

Both the Gators and Sooners have awesome offenses but I think that Florida has the edge on defense. Maybe I'm just biased ;-)
Either way, It's going to be a good game.

Get'em together with Boise State (insert current seasonal hysteria here)...might make an interesting match up.

Yes someone can beat them but they still can get to the title game if they take care of their business
