: Can you change offset?

I was looking at wheels that are 19X8'' with a +29 offset. I would think this would sit a little past the fender correct? Other than that, can you have a shock grind down the wheel to make the offset something like +35?

Nope.Nothing you can do.

Some wheels can be machined down but it's not recommended as the integrity of the wheel will be compromised significantly.

Best to look at other wheels that already have the correct offset. Even at +35 you'll have issues with a lowered E.

The suspension I have now doesn't rub. I'm lowered on Eibach springs and running a 19X8'' with something like a +38 offset. I don't know if it's not rubbing because the tire is tucking on bumps, or, just has enough clearence to not touch the fender lip of big bumps. Would this still cause problems with the 19X8 with +29 offset? The wheels I'm looking at are Volk Racing CE28N's.

IMO, yes +29 offset would rub in some capacity. If you rolled your fenders and had the camber toed in some maybe you'll clear but hard to say. It'd have to be a try it and see experience since you're so far from the stock offset.

Thanks for all the input, Dance. I suppose I will bite the bullet and hold out on the Volks......and I wanted them so bad. The problem is I can only afford used, so I have to catch the right set on eBay or something like that. Thanks again.

I surprised that the Volks don't come in a higher offset. They are for a FWD vehicle aren't they? Most FWD wheels don't have offsets that low...

They do but are harder to find used. I actually just found a set of CE28N's in a 19X8 with a +48 offset with a gunmetal finish! Just have to haggle with him a little bit to get a good price. Think they will rub?

You'll be fine with the 48 offset...if you don't want to have a lip on ur rim. Factory is 45mm offset..so 48 would fit just fine.

I have 19" x 8.5" with 45 series tires. I had to roll the rear fenders only. Tein S-Tech springs. 2.5" drop.

48 will be perfect!
