good lord its expensive!

average retail is 60 bucks.. their is no listings on ebay.. and the best deal i found online was $41 shipped out of state.

anyone else need to use one? where did you buy, and what was your price?

its crazy the stereo harness is like under 10 bucks.. and this one is 6 times the price.. a little ridiculous if you ask me.

I got one. I ended up paying like $50 or so. It's a curiously long harness--I ended up wrapping most of the wire behind the glove box.

cool, so with this I can use the factory amp and such? wire the loose ends to the pre-outs on the head unit?

No, the purpose of this harness is to NOT use the factory amp, hence the label "Factory Amp Bypass".

You'd use this if you want to power all your speakers off the head unit without running wires to each speaker through the doors, or if you have an aftermarket amp powering all the speakers.

I seriously thought about getting one when I installed my Alpine PDX.5 amp, but ended up just running speaker wire back to the factory amp location and splicing into the wires that run to all the speakers (unpluging the harness from the amp, of course).

OMG.. i never thought of that.. i have a couple looms of 2 wire laying around, prolly enough to run 4 pairs from the HU to the AMP. i always had the idea of unpluging the amp harness and plugging it right into that super long 1726 harness and be done with it...

i wouldn't mind doing this, since im just "tapping" into the factory harness, pull back some shielding, and twist the wire, solder and tap it up.. but cutting, and jumpering the amp wires, means cutting factory wires, and ide much rather "tap" into it. great idea. prolly saved me 50 bucks!
