I know that it has keyless entry, and the dealer gave us one non-Honda fob for it, but even he admitted that he couldn't get it to work (and the battery in it is good). I'd like to go ahead and get real Honda fobs for both DH and I, but I have no idea what to look for or what will work!
I know there are some numbers involved, but since I don't have a fob that goes witht he car already, how would I figure out the exact ones to get?
P.S. I did search, but didn't really see my exact situation for an 06 :/

You might try Ebay, or if you would rather go with a reputable source, I would first suggest H and A.

The fob you received from the dealer is prolly to an aftermarket alarm !

^^ thanks!!! So as long as those #'s match, I should be able to do the "turn on/lock/turn off" dance to program them?
^ I can't tell from your post if that would be a good or bad thing o.0
It also has this weird little tranciever thingie stuck to to the inside of the windshield in the upper driver's side corner...we have no clue what that's for, but it has red LEDs on it that light up when the car is off and you press the breaks :? The fob that we got with the car actually has lock/unlock buttons on it and a blue LED that does light when you push the buttons, but it doesn't affect the car at all. We're so confused!!

the numbers are for the OEM remote that comes with the EX-P.
Could you post a picture of the "weird little tranciever thingie stuck to to the inside of the windshield" maybe one of us would know what it is.
If some one has changed the OEM remote lock for some type of aftermarket alarm system then the OEM remotes aren't going to be much use to you at all.
Check this pdf file (http://www.handa-accessories.com/element/elementkeyless.pdf), it's the keyless system, maybe you could check and see if that is what you actually have before you bother trying to buy the new remote units.
