I bought a navigation unit for my element and it replaces my stock stereo. WHen I pulled it out, there was no plug in the back of the new radio to accommodate the green plug that fit into the back of the stock radio.

What is the green plug for and do I need to plug it in? Please let me know.

I appreciate all of your help.

the first post in this fAQ might help. I would guess from your post you might be talking about the auxillary ground

It seems like other people havwe the same question. I understand what the diagram is showing (i think), but I am not sure what that green plug is. It is not a green wire, it is a few wires joined by a green colored plug. Is this the wires to the amp, please let me know.

sorry I was no help.
Just curious. How many wires on the green connector. I assume we are talking about an EX OEM head unit. There are 4 connectors. I don't have a clue what you are talking and may be full of it. But I do have a 2006 service manual.

Here are the green wires that I see. These are green only wires no stripe.

20 pin connector: A16 Stereo amplifier left rear

6 pin connector: C4 Auxuiliary Jack (AUX S GND)

14 pin connector: D14 XM Receiver (L-)

If that don't help I got nothin!:rolleyes::)

When you don't fill out your profile, I don't know the year of your E, therefor, I can NOT give an accurate answer. So, I'll guess.
What is the green plug for
Aux Input
do I need to plug it in?
Do you use an Ipod?

Tom is working on that!

Almost all of the information is back. The year still does not come up though.

I am also having issues with the format of the information on the left hand edge, instead of across the top of the post.'''''

This change, has made it necessary to scroll to the right to read the last few words on each like.

What a pain in the butt !

OOps sorry for the HiJack !

It shows Audio unit connector C : Color Green, 8 Cavities ( looks like 6 are used.) There is no description of what it connects to in the on line data.

I looked ! I need the Electrical guide for that.

Sorry

Dom

We absolutely need year and model to answer this one, so given the momentary problems with the profile we will need the context. Most of the year-to-year and model differences are messing with the entertainment systems.
