Has anyone heard when the crash test results for the Element will be out?
The location of the gas tank under the drivers area should help the rear crash tests but what about the side impact crashes? Also, is the tanks proximity to the ground and its metal bar protection area caused any problems when going off the beaten path?
Thanks for your inputs and have a great day!

Seems that it is typical for the crash tests to be around April annually, so keep your eyes & ears open, should not be long!
Overall what RML & I Have seen has been 5 out of 5 stars on ratings, though they are not complete reviews as of yet, so we are always hunting and will post what we find when it is found!
the vulnerable tank acutally is well positioned when it comes to side or any other impact.. the only problem could be off-roading which this vehicle was not really made for.. it does not have that much ground clearance.. but if you must.. and you get the vehicle built up higher get a skid plate installed onthe bottom to protect the tank. Take precautions!\
Good lucK!

 Don't worry about crash test results. Seems that NHTSA is in bed with all the foreign manufacturers. I am sure that this ugliest of vehicles will fare well. Though I must say that a solid twisting to the body may actually improve the looks of the hideous Element.

i might have to check it again but i think the fuel tank is plastic?the ground was too snowy to look thoroughly.i do some machining so i may make an aluminum skid plate. those guards that are on it are an afterthought.
HansBlix,
I take it you don't own an Element and have no intention of buying one.
As far as the NHTSA being in bed with foreign manufactures, do you see people watching you all the time? Hear voices?
