Went to the dealer to get a price on winter tires and rims and they gave me a price which included an extra $200 for the sensors for the tire pressure monitoring. I could care less if it tells me my tires are low for the winter I can check them myself every once in a while.....like in the old days ;p . I was just wondering if there may be any other problem if i don't get them..I really don't want to see my dash light up like a Christmas tree.

Skip 'em. If you do get them then you have to have them programmed as well. Come spring guess what. You have to get ur originals reprogrammed too, then bac and forth for the rest of your E's life. It's a pain in tha @$$ and totally not worth it. It's just one little light no Christmas tree.
It won't mess with the VSA or anything else.
Ask me how I know.:D

HA! They failed to mention anything about the reprogramming. Thanks for the response. Guess I'll be singing Chrsitmas carols :D

might be cheaper for sensors with a wheel package from tirerack.com or you can put the 4 sensors in a small wheelbarrow tire in the trunk. some of the tuner guys do that.

Brilliant. (Next-best thing to sending the whole system back to the depths of hell whence it came.) Maybe someone will come up with a more compact and lightweight pressure vessel.

I am curious at to how this will work on a Honda. The service manaul states that the sensors go into sleep mode after the vehicle is stationary for a few minutes.
• When the wheels rotate, the tire pressure sensors momentum is detected, switching them from sleep mode to
normal function (awake) mode. After the vehicle is stationary for 5 minutes, the sensors switch from normal
function mode back to sleep mode to extend their battery life.

Pull the TPMS system and sell it to some rube on e-bay. Go to Checker and buy a tire gauge for a dollar or heck, splurge a little and get a digital gauge for five bucks, then use the money you saved and buy a new snowboard.:D
Just a note E-ple, crutches like TPMS and VSA make you a little more stupid each day you rely on them. Don't become complacent.
