The truck is in the shop so I'm taking the E deer hunting this weekend for the first time. I'm gonna pull the rear seats out so a 200+lb buck will fit. If I get one I'll post some pics.

Good luck. I remember seeing some members on the board here with a deer strapped down on an E.

I went the first week in November. I hunt northern Maine. I took a nice 6 pointer. He went 187 Lb. dressed. It fit inside the E ok. Bring a tarp!!!

I had been seeing the same 3 doe's for 2 days in a row. I was holding a doe tag, so they were fair game. But I kept hoping to see one of the 4 or 5 bucks that had been scraping saplings.

It was obvious that it was not the same buck. The tracks at the scraps were not the same Size. There was one set that was much bigger than all the others. The one I got was not that one. He had much smaller hooves. Still a nice deer. We had some for dinner tonight.

Last years Buck would not fit inside. He was 254lb. dressed.

I use my hitch carrier basket, works good, keeps smell and dirtiness out side.

I didn't get to hunt this year. Between work and hunting, I chose work.:-(
Next year I'll bow hunt so I can get out before vacation fill in gets me again.

I got a buck today. I hauled it on the tailgate out of the woods, then 2 of us put it up on the roof & tied it to the luggage rack. I'm driving 50 or so miles up the interstate to have it processed & you should see the looks I'm getting from other drivers. It like they've never see an Element with a deer spread across the roof, hehe.

just tie it to the rear bumper and drag it out  you gonna throw half of it away anyways

I could use the E for deer hunting, but it would be hard on the bodywork. Saw about 5 dead on my 10 mile commute thru suburbia this morning.

I drove my Element 6000 miles to get 3 deer this year.

I took the seats out of the back.

I put a tarp under the animal in the field.
Then I make the gut pile.

Then I drag the animal to the Element.
Sometimes having to go under fences.

Then I put another tarp in the Element, and somehow lift the carcass into the Element by myself.

Next year I want to make a hoist that connects to the Element only through the class III trailer hitch. I would like to keep the whole carcass out of the Element.
Not for hauling, but I want to butcher the animal hanging from the Element.
Just meat in plastic bags in coolers in the Element next year.

Once a tarp has blood on it, it can't be cleaned with snow.
So take lots of tarps if you want to keep blood from getting on the Element cargo area.
