I'm kinda curious as to the answer, as I had thought that I wanted in descending order a GG, SOP or SM. After looking at a SOP I moved it down the list. It really doesn't look like what I see on either of my computers and the sample in the brochure was darker than the actual vehicle appeared in person. Plus it looked a bit weird at night - seems to have gold metallic flecks in it.

We were initially going to get a DX in silver, but one family member couldn't handle the blue plastic in the interior, so that was out. I did like the GG, but it was even harder to find in manual than my eventual acquisition a SM EX. After a Civic, this vehicle is a dream!

Seen it, sat in it, and driven it! But the dealer wouldn't go down on price, so I ordered it from a dealer that would. Arrives next week!

I don't like the other interiors, so I had to choose from Black, Orange, or Shoreline Mist. I don't like black cars, had one the Shoreline Mist color for 6 years, so decided to get a "fun" color for once (my current vehicle is white).

We have a shoreline mist and absolutely love it. The interior on them is incredible and looks a bit more upscale. Good luck deciding!

I frequent Honda Dealerships in my travels, and I seen exactly ONE.
It was way back when the E first came out, around New Years.

I really liked it, thought it was beautiful. I also thought the black or standard interior was an excellent combo because the outside color is so "outgoing". Really nice combination.

Now, my wife did not like the SOP in the least. We took it for a test drive (yeah, it was someone's, but salesman don't care) and my wife claimed everybody was looking at us. She liked it in the catalogue, but didn't like it in person. She's conservative though.

I think with the lack of SOP coming out of the factory, it's probably the most in-demand vehicle (SOP E) out there. I called a dealer before I got mine and asked if they had any Elements, and he said "let me guess you want an Orange one". He told me that it seems all the people calling about Elements were interested in getting one in Orange.

 I see one each morning (in my garage). They are rare. I have only seen one other and it was at the dealer. And that's in a metro area of 3 million (DFW).

My wife was unsure about the SOP. We went back and forth. To me, the SOP is the only color that does justice to the funky shape. I love it.

I ordered my SOP two days ago! There was a silver on the lot that the dealer really came down on for me, but I knew I wouldn't be happy with the silver. I would have constantly been saying I wish I had an SOP! 5 weeks :!:  :!:

I've seen one SOP - looked great "in the metal". I was very pleasantly surprised at how it looked. Wasn't "in your face" like I thought it would be. However, mine is Blue and looks great glistening in the sun.

I love my SOP E. It stands out, and looks incredible when all shined up. The other colors are to plain, they should have come out with more like the SOP.

I have a deposit on an SOP EX 4WD. I pick it up in about 2 weeks. Dealer said there were two coming in like that, and then he couldn't guarantee if he would ever get anymore in that color. I don't know if he was giving me a line, or was being truthful, but I want mine now anyway. :D

I just talked to a dealer and he pulled out his Forecast of vehicles arriving in from Honda - He said out of the next 48 Elements he is allocated, Exactly one is SOP.

Paint issues ? Misjudged popularity of color?

I think it is unlikely that Honda planned on making so few SOPs - only because this vehicle was targeted squarely at young people, and young kids don't scream for beige cars. The SOP had a prominent place in the Honda Catalogue and the main media outlets got the SOP to test drive and report on.....

If young people were going to go for this vehicle they would also go for unusual colors..

I never even considered the SOP because in all the photos I had seen the color appeared to be a metallic red. I did see the obviously orange photo that Honda has on their website, but figured that was a pre-production photo that didn't actually represent the actual color. But someone on HondaSUV.com posted pics of their SOP E gleaming in the sun and I was hooked! I usually perefer black - my last 3 vehicles were all black - but I really want a head turner this time around and I think that an SOP EX AWD would do the trick! But like a lot of you, I have yet to see one in person. I have seen all the other colors, now if I could just find the elusive SOP!

This is all very interesting. The SOP I drove a few weeks ago (4WD EX) is still on the dealer's lot. But since their pricing & reputation are bad, I went to another dealer. The second dealer can't keep any Elements on the lot, and I was fortunate to get my name on this one before a couple other customers who are waiting for the same color.

You'd think that after being on their lot for a few weeks, the "bad" dealer would have made concessions! I know of an SOP in San Diego that's just waiting to be bought if you want to deal with those folks!

It's kind of a long haul from North Carolina!

Excuse my ignorance, but what color is SOP? What exactly do the letters stand for? Nobody is defining it anywhere. :?:

Thanks,

SOP stands for Sunset Orange Pearl. It's a beautiful burnt orange color that I hope to see in my driveway very soon!

Saw one, bought one, love it. In many on the Honda photos it looks red. It really is Burnt Orange. The best color!

SOP really surprises people. People that are really turned off by Orange find themselves liking the SOP. Hot car with good interior color combination.

from M Ornett's description,... i would lean more toward the Orange, that sounds gorgeous!

I was glad to see colors not as dark as they appeared online.

and Simon I am one of those who does not like the color Orange but this one was very tempting!!

I went for the Blue, I was afraid it would be dark, and not show the contrast of the composite panels.. but it does, beautifully!

I would have liked the orange if it had a cream interior that would have been cool! I am a blue person.. and love it.. but I was tempted by the orange & green.

I do like the accent interiors of the blue accent and green accent.. just unique so happy to look at.. if it were lighter or darker i would not like it but just right!

So was I, but then I see the orange beetles and xterra, and im like no way...the SOP is nicer than those though, its more of a rust colored orange, and that seems to be the flavor of the month, even mountain bikes have that color right now. I did see one, in the dealer's holding facility, but it was auto, and it was nice, looked red from afar.

I think these babies are selling faster than Honda thought. I live in a small subdivision (about 150 homes) and tonight someone drove in with brand spanking new SOP. They live a couple streets over.

Those things seemingly change color with the time of day - it was late afternoon and it looked red.
