Does anyone know if you can install another car alarm besides the Honda factory one? If so, what kind and who carries it?

You can install any brand alarm you want on an Element. It all depends on your preferences.

We are currently using an LCD paging alarm system with remote start. It has a 1/2 mile range with excellent features. We're real happy with it. I did the installation myself. I wouldn't recommend doing that if you do not know what you are doing.

Thanks for your reply, but I have a doubt. Do I still have to lock the driver's door with the key manually...even with it having an alarm installed? Currently I have to lock it that way for all the doors to lock.

i have an aftermarket alarm and the doors are locked/unlocked with a pretty standard keyless remote

It all depends on the kind of alarm that you get. I have our alarm programmed to automatically lock and unlock upon ignition ON and OFF.

Not all alarms have that capability.
