im interested in getting a back up camera real soon for my kenwood DNX5120.
can anyone recommend a good camera. i assume around the $100 range. not looking for one of those $20 ebay ones.
also, i read somewhere that some headunits require reverse image cameras? do i need that for my touch screen? i tried reading though the kenwood manual, and it mentions nothing.

It does seem that most camera's that are advertised as "back-up| camera's are reversed image camera's. Meaning you see the correct orientation on your screen. The AVIC-D3 does state on the screen that "the image may be reversed" when the E is in reverse. Check out the BOYO line of camera's. They have some decent units at reasonable prices.

We have a store here in mass., called u-do-it electronics. ( I think that's the name of it. I'll look for a link shortly. The prices are good.
They have several camera's set up in the showroom for you to look at. You get to see the Quality of the image it produces before you buy it. It's better than Fry's (http://www.frys-electronics-ads.com/) on pricing!
Fry's has them starting about 90$ (http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1231363619/ref=sr_gnr_fkmr?ie=UTF8&search-alias=automotive&field-keywords=Camera). There must be something similar in your area.
Found it, Link (http://www.youdoitelectronics.com/).

I think the New York Times tech column reviewed some (maybe last summer). If it wasn't there, it was probably in Walter Mossberg's column in the Wall Street Journal. Both have archives, so the article may still be around.
