Ok, so i just installed my new head unit. It is AWESOME. except i still have to get power to the antenna. the AM side of my radio doesnt work. furthermore there are 3 more wires on the car side of the harness than the head unit side. what do i need to hook up to get power to the antenna? FM works but needs to be boosted. thanks.
Im gonna try and post pics soon, my element is getting preeeeeetty sweet now. I only wish you could all hear it. thanks again....

The antenna on the roof is powered, and you will need to hook this up to the power antenna lead of your new head unit. There should be two on the back of your new radio, one goes to the amp usually blue in color. The one for the antenna is blue/white. This one is powered only when the tuner is on.

im gonna go rip this thing out again, but im pretty sure there were no more wires on the harness into the element (for the power antenna). if im right, are there any suggestions?

It would help if you had a DVM or a test light to help you determine which wire is which. There is also an illumination lead coming from the car's harness. It should be red/black, you shouldn't need to connect this one unless your new radio has the dimming feature.

ok i got it. here is the problem. the harness that i got ( the one that fits the element in the metra guide) has 13 wires on it. there is no power antenna lead. so i figured out which wires were coming out of the car into the harness and which ones had nothing coming out on the metra harness side of it. turns out there were 2 wires that were going in that werent coming out. i took a stab and guessed the top one and i was right. its yellow and grey (on the honda side). i hooked that up to the head unit (crimped) and now it works. next project : run the tv antennas. thanks for your help.
