Twilightzero 01-19-2009, 11:50 AM I'd love to have one of those PDX-5's but the price sticker is sadly out of my range these days
eric.barcus 01-19-2009, 12:15 PM @ gibroni im thinking it will go underneath the seat, havent planned that part out yet cause i dont have it in hand and the car torn aprt yet :) id LOVE to get it hidden somewhere up front not sure where that sweet spot is going to be yet
@ twilghtzero yea it is a pricey little thing, yet so beautiful, and its not really on my dime so i figured get it now while i can :)
i too cant wait for it, first i have to wait on shipping of the gift cards from work (could be two weeks) then i have to wait on crutchfield to ship it could be another week and just thinking about that makes me a little :( more time to plan i do suppose :)

box-E 01-23-2009, 08:18 PM On your Pioneer, make sure you have the latest firmware version. Go to Pioneers website and check it out. We put that unit in my wife's new Escape and had nothing but problems with it, especially with the bluetooth phone setup till we got both updates installed. It works great with the new firmware but before that I was ready to pull it and put her old AVIC-D3 back in. Drew:)
eric.barcus 01-24-2009, 08:39 AM 2.0 update came installed :) very happy about that one, install will hopefully take place today :)

me :D wanna hang out while i work on it?
im waiting on the dash kit from crutchfield because no one had the double din in stock
i have a few more mods id like to do while installing the stereo, as well as some research for the moving mirrors, anyone thats in the area is welcome to hang out
also i dont have a garage at my current location, i do have property in snohomish we could all gather at, but if someone had a garage... we could do things a little quicker and more enjoyable/longer being shielded from this cold (there is snow atm)

Wouldn't be the worst way to spend a Saturday, maybe while there you can figure out why my front passenger speaker cover rattles :(
eric.barcus 01-26-2009, 03:44 PM sounds like a good idea!
im in everett, your in marysville
got a garage?
or we working on the street in the snow?
when are you free?
eric.barcus 01-27-2009, 04:16 PM UGH and HEEYYYYY
so all the gift cards came in the mail last night! 1200 in gift cards that is :D
buttttt the pdx5 is out of stock! i was sooo heart broken that i decited to reorganize the sub build and plan for the bigger sub build out that i wanted to go in the original ideas soo now im getting a pdx4 which will provide a strong 100rms to the component sets that have a power request of 100rms should sound amazing and im adding two kicker solo baric 8s and a custom sub inclusure / repositioning for the cup holders inspired by outpost4 here is the "paint" version of the box
http://s5.tinypic.com/6ek9yd.jpg
BigAl205 01-27-2009, 04:27 PM Wow...nice picture. :D
I have also been discussing the idea of a custom 'boom' console with NismoGriff. I had some ideas on how to move the brake handle, but as I started to look into it a little deeper, I realized the airbag sensor is under the cupholder and I don't think that mounting subs directly on top of it is such a good idea.
...just my .02 :|
eric.barcus 01-27-2009, 06:54 PM OHH thanks man for the heads up! im actually on the phone atm ordering the materials and i looked at where i can spend these gift cards and the home improvement store is one of them so... down to one single sub atm, ill keep most of the box desing in mind for doing dual subs
also ive found a garage to do the build in :) i wont have to be out in the parking lot
ALSO whats going on with that relocating of the parking break? does it look like we would be able to move the sensor as well? anyone got enought curage to start playing with the sensor?
Any word if outpost4 had any airbag issues? im sure his build was far enough away i mean the stealth box is closer to the parking break then his setup
NismoGriff 01-27-2009, 11:42 PM It's just that the parking brake is the largest obsticle when it comes to building an adequate enclosure between the seats, especiall in BigAl's case because he wanted a pair of 12's on there. I had mentioned to Al that if I were to build an enclosure that covered the e-brake mechanism, I could use a linear actuator to engage the parking brake with a dash mounted switch. Good luck with your build.
gibroni 01-28-2009, 06:04 PM What about a build out of the stock sub enclosure, like Outpost's, but instead of cup holders have a second 8" sub?
I think the ultimate setup would be an 8" or 10" "midbass" up front with a 12" "subbass" in the spare tire well.
eric.barcus 01-29-2009, 11:45 PM next year im gunna try to get a safari style roof rack and add a 15 in the rear wheel well as a "ohhh yeah :flip switch: THATS my bass" ha!
order confimed and shiped today :)
install pictures to come, spent the first full day with the HU today :D
eric.barcus 01-31-2009, 11:13 PM my 2006 does NOT have an airbag sensor under the cup holders hear the ebrake, bigal says it woud look like a yellow box, nothing yellow under my 2006 = more bass :)
barvel 02-02-2009, 12:47 AM I have the 900bt and love it.
Can't wait to see your install.
