: Is there a limited slip differential available for the 5spd?

My 5spd 2WD EX with the greaseball stock Wranglers had serious traction problems on wet pavement. I have replaced them with H-rated Bridgestone Dueler H/P P235/R70-16's and the improvement has been amazing. A little pricey but the constant wheelspin coming off the line in the wet has been 90% eliminated. Cornering has been vastly improved too. They calculate to being about 4% larger circumference but I don't notice any difference in zippiness. I thought the stock set-up was geared too low anyway.

I want to take the traction to the next level. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket limited slip differential available for the Element?

Try contacting the folks at Phantom Grip, http://www.phantomgrip.com. They appear to offer a limited slip mod for the current CR-V, which is the same transaxle as the E, but with a different final drive ratio.

Let us know what they say! 8)

Bugz,
Do your Bridgestone Dueler's rub at all when you turn the wheel to the far right/left? Where did you get them, TireRack? They appear to have excellent performance ratings.
