My wife has a Toyota Sequoia Limited with the radio controls on the left side of the steering wheel hub.
I walked by a pilot today and saw the same thing!
Anyone know if this can be accomplished with the E?
Thanks in advance to this great group!

I was thinking the same thing. I told my wife I was going to steal her Pilot's wheel and give her mine....... she in return just gave me one of those "if you do, I'm gonna kick your @#* looks" so on second thought, maybe it wasn't such a good idea.

Nothing's impossible, but this comes under the category of "very difficult". The problem is the wiring in the steering column. On-wheel controls and the airbag are connected through what is called a "clock spring" cable, because it... well... sort of looks like a clock spring.
I just checked the parts breakouts, and the Pilot and Element clock springs are fairly different, and probably different enough to not be interchangable. Even if you were to solve that, you also would need the Pilot radio and the bit of wiring harness between the clock spring and the radio, as well.
Possible? With a lot of work, maybe, but awfully expensive by the time you're done with it. :?

Wouldnt it just be easier to by an aftermarket system with a remote? Thats if you cant reach the radio?

Thanks Mike
So far the two things I have really lusted for are very difficult and expensive.
1. Auto windows for both right and left windows
2. Steering wheel controls for radio
And no a cheesy remote offered by the aftermarket radio makers is lame! Until you use the wheel mounted controls you dont know what your missing. Its very nice to turn the radio on and off without moving from the wheel and changing from AM-FM-CD-Tape etc is great, also volume control of course.
Thanks all!
EMASS make a kit for my two problems and we can talk some $$$

Then just glue it to your steering wheel :D

Which, of course, is the literal meaning of "tacky".

OK So anyone know if an Acura MDX wheel fits?

I don't think its a matter of the wheel fitting, its the whole thing that has to be hooked up with the stereo and reconfiguring the airbags and sensors, etc. Im probably wrong as usual, but that would seem to be the problem to me.
an ex-gf had the steering wheel controls in her accord (early 90's?) and it was sweet. Easy to change the volume or the station without taking your hand off the steering wheel. While it is not essential, you get pretty spoiled with it.

Yep I know there is more involved just posted here to keep a somewhat coherent thread.
One Idea I am working for the controls is to use the Pilot buttons to connect to an aftermarket unit I will try and mount under the airbag. I figure since its easy to remove the bag battery replacement shouldnt be an issue.
Any ideas - Hints - Sugestions?

OK Majectic honda has the finisher plastic peices for .27 YES 27 Cents each! And the switch is $16.84 I think thats all pretty cheap stuff! I am going to bite the bullet and order these parts to see what I can work together. Now I am off searching for a slim remote which when de-cased will fit in the available space adjacent to the airbag. I figure I can wire the volume controls to the remote easy enough and the mode shouldnt be too tough. So now I am looking for a aftermarket radio which has AUX input, MP3 support and maybe Sirius or XM ready or onboard?
Thanks all for the ideas and terrible sugestions of taping or tacking something onto the wheel which made me get off my rear and think a little
