I am the proud new owner of a '08 LX and would like to remove the little storage tray under the OEM radio. I found quite a few threads that describe the removal of the HU but they all refer to some u-shaped bezel. It appears that this applies to earlier models only though. I am pretty sure there is a thread about this somewhere here on this (by the way awesome) forum but so far I had no luck finding it.

The procedure to remove the head unit should be the same. Remove the trim surrounding the radio and remove the screws holding the radio/pocket combo to the sub dash. The "U" piece that is being referred to is the part that goes from just under the vents on one side of the radio, down under the radio and around to the other side ending below the vents. The trim panel might be slightly different on the 08's but the principle should be the same.
