I was given a replacement fob by the dealership over the weekend. It was missing when I bought the Element. The one they gave me was not new, was a spare one they had laying around and thought was for an Element. I tried to program it, but it didn't work. For some reason, I thought there might have been a change in remote during the life of the 1st gen Element. I am trying to verify if it's me (bad programming) or that they gave me the wrong remote.

The FCC ID on my remote is " OUCG8D-344h-A" and I also have a 2000 Civic that has an IDENTICAL looking remote but the FCC ID is totally different, and the label on the back has a serial number as well. The FCC ID on that one is "A269ZUA106". My wife has an 02 Acura RSX and the FCC ID is the same as the element only -355-A. Sorry not trying to cause you grief just wondering what the problem is...and I didnt have my keys on me at the time of the first post

Thanks guys!
I think the one they gave me is for older Elements...
I know they are ordering me another one. I was missing both fobs and negotiated to get two from the dealership...

Thanks!!

When you pick up the remotes, walk over to service and ask them to
program them for you. That way if there are any problems, you will
know right away, and you wont have to keep going back and forth
to the dealer. It takes them like 5 minutes to do since they do it all
the time. Good luck. :D

Actually, it takes like 1 minute.

With a key on the off position in the ignition, turn it to the accessories position 2, depress the unlock button on the remote, then turn the key back to off.

Repeat that 3 times and on the forth time when you press the unlock button on the remote, you'll hear the door's unlock. Leave the key in position two and press the unlock button on the 2nd remote.

Turn the car off and test out the remotes.
