Element. I drive 15,000 miles a year. Mostly in town. Some highway. I live in the South so no snow issues. My main desire is a quiet ride. Thanks in advance.

Round black ones. :D

I think you should brows around this forum and see what you find.

Wisper: I also think something like the General Grabber HTS (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50495)would work well for you, especially if price matters too.

I just got a set of Michelins LTX M/S in 225/70/16 and I love them.

But that’s just one persons opinion.

jhlewisjr, What kind of E do you have and what will you use if for besides commuting? I love my Michelin LTX M/S's. Great for snow/ice (which won't be a problem for you), rain, nasty dirt roads and dry pavement. They are quiet and give you a great ride. They also have a 60k mile tread life warranty, which is rare for a truck tire. That said if you never leave the pavement maybe a car tire would work better for you.

I had a set of Hankook DynaPros on a F150 once, and those were super quiet! great road tire, really good in the rain.

besides that, I'd recommend my BFG Long Trails, they've been very good drivin around in.

The thread below has, I believe, an exhaustive discussion regarding a range of tires and the experiences of Element owners with them. As you can see there's a number of tires that give good service. I run the Michelins myself.

Another vote for these tires - so much better than the OEMs we had.

yeah my oem tires got replaced right after my car hydroplaned over a puddle while it was raining and came within 6 inches of running a red light and into a pickup truck. i drove up the street to discount tire and gave the goodyears to a friend.

Take a look at the Continental Cross Contact LX......I live in south and just put a set on my 2004 and they so far are more than I expected. They also have a $75 factory rebate program on a set of 4 for the next few weeks. See my thread under tires for more info.

Good luck.

I have the Uniroyal Laredos and love them. I've had no problems with them at all... I got them a year and a half ago and am looking forward to testing them in the Laurentien Mountains this summer!

Toyo Open Country H/T's. Far superior to the Geolander, Contintental and anything Uniroyal makes.

it should really be based on where you live and not just a tire brand. Sure people want to boast the pricey Toyo but of course they left out the softness of the toyo. If you are in a "whitetop" area and heat ranges are not over 95 degress in the summer I would say it's ok. If you are blacktop and use toyo's why on earth would you pay so much for 30-34K mileage on them?

I have heard way too many salesmen in the past promote high end tires and ride comfort.....focus on suspension if you are looking for ride comfort and medium softness tires for all around performance and life. Uniroyal for instance goes under 8 different tire brands, same rubber, same factory, and same truck delivers them. The BF momentum have always performed well for me and allow for excess of 65K before replacement in a blacktop state.

Price does not mean everything and often spending extra on one brand does not mean anything unless your only goal is performance.

I am running 235/60-16 goodyear response edge eagles and i am very happy.Have about 30k on them and should get another 10k out of them. I live in an area w/no snow so I can not comment on that aspect-these tires were expensive but it was a great upgrade from the factory tires-plus they look real cool!

Hi,
I just put 60000 miles on some cooper cs4 radials then changed over to the GOODYEAR Comfortread Assurance tire.

The quietest tire I EVER had!! On the element the size is best at 215/65/16 on your original equipment rim.

The best bonus is that these tires are good for 80000 miles even at this comfort level.

They cost $115.00 per tire but you get a $50 rebate if you buy with a Goodyear Credit card.

Sweet ride on the Element. BTW I have 144000 miles on mine and it rides like a dream.

I have Yokohama Geolander HTS, I would've gotten the LTX but they didn't have a warranty on the mileage of the tire. I'm happy with them and I would recommend them.
