Damn I'm in a jam. Want to replace the old Sony deck I have in my 93 Civic.

I thought that Sony deck was from the factory. It's not.

It's a Sony EXR-10 also known as XR2300.

I took out the bolt holding it in the back. But it wont come out. Anyone have an idea how to deal with this?

See pic for HU.

wow, thats an old 2 knob. loosen the 2 bolts on the stems and the cover plate should come off.those bolts should hold it in.then it should slide out. (im trying to remember but its been so long)

yup, once you take the two nuts off the stems and get the faceplate off, there's usually a mounting plate behind that which holds the radio in place. They're all a little different.

If you're still stuck once you get the nuts off, take another picture and we'll try again :-)

In case you still need help i found the manual for that radio. There is an exploded view on page 41 of the radio.

I've removed one of the old 2-knobbers once, it was a PITA. But yeah it's the knob stem nuts that are holding the whole thing in.

You may find something like this behind the faceplate of the radio. Usually one or more of the pieces are required to properly secure the two shaft radio into the DIN opening.
