Surely there must be more Elements in Arizona than three :-)

Four?

Kirsten
02-25-2004, 03:12 PM
Okay, the four of us, plus I know there is one silver/grey one in my neighborhood plus another orange driving around Tucson which freaks my friends and family out when it turns out not to be mine (I assume these can't be any of you since none of you seem to be in Pima County).

Of course there's plenty more than that...;-)

Just offhand, I've seen four in the U of A neighborhoods: A GGM with Cal. plates that parks in the neighborhood North of the U of A, one with Cal. plates (can't remember the color) that parks South of the U of A (across the street from University House), A SMM with AZ plates that parks next to Mansfeld middle school, and finally a SOP w/AZ plates that I've seen several times in the Mansfeld area driven by a gentleman that looks to be in his 50's.

I've seen several more than that around town, but it does seem that close to half of them do have Cal. plates (lots of U of A students I assume).

And, of course, I'm still waiting for my E to arrive at my dealership (probably about another 1-3 weeks....

I could be the SOP driving around Tucson, though there seem to be four or five of us now. :D

Okay, who was the SOP in the Bentley's parking lot a couple of weeks ago :)

My husband and I were supposed to meet at Bentley's, but he was running late so I ended up leaving before he got there. I called him to let him know I was on my way home, and he asked if I wanted to come back and meet him but I had other things I had to do so I said no. Then he pulled into the parking lot all excited to see an SOP and thought I came back after all but figured out it wasn't mine when he couldn't find my XM antenna.

Hey Hey Hey...

I'm here in Phoenix. Mine is an SOP EX AWD. Ever since I bought mine, I see Elements all over the place! Every Element driver I see waves at me or gives me the "thumbs up". It's like being in some kind of exclusive club!

This is the greatest car in the world!!!!!!!!

Wife and I got ours in May. We began noticing other E drivers waving at one another and thought that it was really cool. I come from rural Iowa and people wave to one another when driving there. It does show a sense of civility rarely seen here in the valley.

Got ours in June and I'm constantly on the lookout for other E owners. I give and receive lots of waves to fellow E owners as I go down the road. Just about every E driver I encountered on a recent trip to San Diego was the same -- E owners are very friendly!

Definitely different from most other Phoenix driving experiences!

I've had my 2WD SOP since last September! Been off these boards for awhile but thought I'd check back in. I'm out in Gilbert. Got lots of 'em out here. Some people wave, some don't. Kinda a bummer when they don't!

I've been using my Element to haul everything including my new minibike hobby. It's great for taking the bike, cooler, toolbox and pitcrew to the races!

Well, nice chatting with you all and hopefully I'll be back more often again. I've missed it!

I've been seeing more and more Es around the Phoenix area. Saw a really cool SOP with painted fenders and nice wheels around ASU parked a few spots down from me the other day. With so many AZ Elements, I think it's time for a meet or maybe an light off-road excursion! If anyone else is interested, I'll be happy to get the ball rolling.

I think maybe we should have a meet while the weather is still nice. OOH OOH I know!! We should pick a date to all show up at the Pavillions Auto Gathering on 101 on Saturday nights.

Anyone interested??

Your right about that. It would be cool to be the sensible crowd in a sea of trunk-lid-mounted-adjustable-wings on 1990 75-hp 4-dr accords with coffee-can exhaust tips, though. :) - 'course, I don't want my doors dinged. If we pick a place and set a date let's try to get an "E"-count of who's interested so it isn't like 2-3 of us. How 'bout Desert Ridge on a Saturday morning? or Cave Creek Coffee Co? We could park across the street.

So have we decided on a place and time to meet? Cave Creek area would be cool (not literally of course). I'm in the East Valley, but where ever would be fine. An Element camping trip up north could be fun too!

Elementitis
06-16-2005, 09:57 AM
Cave Creek on a Sat or Sun morning at Cave Creek Coffee Co would probably be pretty easy to put together.

Camping would be fun (I guess "E" people are stable enough to not worry about a serial killer amongst us when we're away from civilization, gulp! I hope) The only issue I'd see for that is that, well, the non-AWD's will be jealous of our cool rear-moon-roof when we're staring at the stars through 'um.

I've slept in my 'E' on several occasions (once I woke up to find my Element covered in snow). Their comfortable if you for-go the seats and just throw a thermarest on the flat floor.

Cave Creek is for me then. Anyone else in? Any particular Saturday morning work? We can hold on the camping trip and discuss it at the "E-Meet". I know I'll be wanting to E-scape the Phoenix heat soon!

I have not really come on here too often, but it is nice to see that there are a few AZ people that are into their Elements. I live in downtown PHX and have seen a bunch of Elements running around. It took me a while to do some of the mods to my Element (Waiting for the right companies to produce stuff), but it has been worth it. I have much more I want to do, but all in good time. I have even taken it out to the local autocross at PIR to shimmy around some cones. It was fun. Here is a pic of my Element. Give me a honk and a wave if you see me around. If you can't read the plate, it says
"LE BOX". You kids old enough to remember in the eighties when there was that piece called "Le Car"? Same thing. Hahahaha

Mark in Tempe here. Just got my new '06 ABM 2WD AT EX-P from Tempe Honda at the Autoplex on Saturday. Pleasant experience & recommended - but only if you are going Fleet.

I simply adore the car and look forward to sharing with you guys; hopefully we can all meet sometime, like maybe at the 5 & Diner at the Mills? Just a suggestion......

No prob, man.

Paid $19,100 for the car, with destination, PRE-tax/title/doc/registration etc., and of course before all the added goodies.

You're allowed to go Fleet if you have been referred; I can call my guy for you if'n you want or even have the need. They were able to dealer trade same day. In all, a great experience (outside of the obligatory "You wanna add LoJack and a bunch of other crap to your financing?" dance with the finance schmuck).

They let me take the keys to 2 of 'em back-to-back (an AWD and 2WD), by myself, and put about 30 miles total on the two. It was instrumental in helping me decide on the 2WD (Honda marketing and romantic daydreams aside, my narrow white butt is on pavement 99.94% of the time, and I liked the fuel mileage and responsiveness of the 2WD as opposed to the other). I wouldn't have been able to make the choice I did - and thus be so happy with my car - if they hadn't been so cool.

Let me know, man.

---- Mark

Thanks Mark, I got a price of $19,388 for the EX-P 2WD so it sound like we are prett close. I don't go off road myself much at all so I can't see spending the extra $ on AWD. I would like to go and drive both though.

Overall I have had the best experience at Tempe, Honda cars of Mesa tried to sell me a Ridgeline for 2 hours and Earnhardts just won't stop with the annoying phone calls! :-x

Thanks again.
JP

myspark1
12-07-2005, 01:06 PM
Again, no prob, JP.

I know EXACTLY what you mean about Earnhardt's, man. Unbelievable. Get treated poorly, then endless calls - after you have clearly indicated and communicated that they are NOT going to get your business - asking you to come back, on "numbers" that don't make any sense whatsoever, oh and by the way - do you have any friends that want to buy?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Completely insane. I went there hoping to give my business to a local franchisee; I left understanding why franchised car dealerships are going the way of the Dodo while conglomerates like United Auto (Penske), which runs Tempe Honda, are getting it done. Ol' Tex might want to think about packing it in soon - I wouldn't sell those folks my snot, and will spread the word wherever I can.

Whew! Here endeth the rant.

Let us know when you get your car, man. Great good luck to you.

Kingcrow.. I hope you didn't sign for the vehicle yet.. truly.. you should check out Tempe Honda, I just bought my replacement for "Pumpkin" 2004 AWD EX AT SOP (RIP 12-08-05) - a beautiful 2006 NBP AWD EX AT, with the roof rack, flaps and security system for a little bit less than your base price there... Yes, it was my 3rd Element purchase within 13months, and I didn't go fleet, but if you can, looks like from previously posted, you could probably do better.... Especially year end..

Just to note.... when I was coming home from the dealer, driving down Elliot eastbound, I saw 2 SOP's , we were all in separate lanes, and for a moment, I forgot I was in the new vehicle (regressed to SOP for a few minutes) as the three of us were lined up at an angle.. I thought how cool.. and waved to the other 2 as I went by.. one of the SOP's is probably a fellow board member, when she was able to speed up, she went past me with a great big wave out the window.. anyway.. it was nice to see someone finally wave back out here!

Hope whatever deal you make, you are happy with your 'E', because thats all the counts in the long run...

Thats awesome, and actually not too far off from my deal and with the 4.9 as well. My finance guy was actually very cool about me not wanting any of the adds (A first!!! ), and actually told me with the down payment I made, it would not be worth it to have gap ins. (settlement from my totalled 2004 SOP, was about 3500 more than what I owed.. hows that for holding value!! )

So if you ever make it over to the east valley and see another little pretty NBP with someone giving you the " E Salute ", its probably me!

ok.. losing it.. could have sworn I replied.. so somewhere in this forum is probably a post out of place, lol....

When I had my SOP, I saw a few NPB's, but mostly Silver and Green, one or two Reds ( aside from my hubby's RR 2005 EX 2WD MT) .. and the odd SOP... however since my SOP was totalled (RIP 12-08-05), I have seen nothing but SOP's on the road.. breaking my heart each time I saw one!

There are 3 NPB's on my route to/from work through Tempe, but have not seen them lately, so thinking it might have something to do with ASU Winter break...

Beautiful pics Reagan - and congrats on the new E. I hope you liked Tempe Honda as much as I did, it is worth the drive for me from East Mesa as well.

When I bought my most recent E, the NBP, there was a Tango in the showroom, but it did not capture the light like your pics do, and I thought it was just another maroon looking vehicle. Your pics bring out the beauty in the color.... if you see my little black NPB zipping along on the 60 - honk!

I decided that since I was buying something that people would be staring at because it was so ugly...that I would also get an 'ugly' color to non-element lovers. So...UOT...stands for Ugly Orange Thing!

dude your story is identical to mine. tempe honda actually transfered my e from superstition, and i ended up paying about $1600 less then at superstition. i delt with a internet mgr at tempe honda and i couldnt believe when i came to pick it up that it was the exact same e i test drove at superstition. apparantly it was the only 2wd LX manual in the state at the time.

if anyone in the phx area is looking for a e or any honda for that matter, i strongly reccomend mike stanley. hes a internet manager at tempe honda. i am not affiliated with them in anyway, i just had a very positive buying experiance so i thought id pass it on. they didnt even push too hard for extended warrantys and other junk. they offered it of course, but once i said no they just moved on. i was in and out in under a hr.

And Alex, since LL and I are in Tucson a lot now (we are having a house built in Sahuarita; should move in some 3-4 months hence), I could always get with you for lunch or something when I am down there. Just a thought.

Awesome, I live in Chandler. I drive throughout the valley every day though (work a job in Phx and one in Gilbert).

I try to wave to other Element owners but they usually either 1) Ignore me or 2) Look like they aren't very happy driving their E's, almost as if they're not the owners and are just borrowing them, or 3) Give me a weird look.

Makes me sad. I usually drive my Elements with a smile on my face :D

First post as I am new where but being an engineer we read the manuals first and then work on something. I have a 2007 EX and I'm going to do a few upgrades if anyone else is interested.

1. The Single Key Fob
2. Install HID and Fog Lights.
3. Arm Rest
4. Install Atom computer for GPS and other fun.

Oh and if anyone is interested doing these little upgrades with me, I'd be happy to bust out some BBQ and help out with their stuff too.

I'm Jason nice to meet you. I'm a firmware engineer.

Just checking in here... I see all kinds of things in other regions, was wondering about the Las Vegas area.

If nothing else, it'll put a bug in some ears!
