Hey guys and gals:

First time E owner(2005 EX,auto,AWD) and poster here.Has anyone added a 2nd AUX plug in yet??? I have a 2 radio account with Sirius(my sis and I).The XM is still active but... when the account expires. In short,I called XM and they can't put the E's radio on as number 3 on my account. To me it is not worth the additional $13 a month for another satelite radio system.I also use a iPod through the AUX jack and thought it would be nice to elimenate the pile of stuff on the dash shelf.Plus it hides the goodies from theives. Now I can move the original jack to a better spot behind the dash. While doing that I figured on adding a second one for my Sirius radio input.I palnned on using a multipole toggle switch to switch the input from iPod to SAT.I work in the industrial maint field so the work would not be hard. But I figured I'd post before starting to see if any folks tried this,,,or ran into difficulty while undertaking the project.
Any thoughts??? I did a search and found a thread from last year, but it really did'nt dive into the second jack install enough for my liking.

PS this forums is just super.I have discovered Honda owners to be resorseful as all heck.My other car is a 1990 Civic SI hatch, the other forum I am on is great too!!!!!

Thanks in advance

Perry

I think you're on the right track. You would certainly have to have a relay or switch of some sort to keep from having impedance issues. I would think you would only have to switch the "positive" leads and tie the returns together to keep the two seperate aux jacks from interfering with one another. Good luck.

Above is how I did it. Not really that complicated. 3.5 mm extension (2ft) and a FFM 3.5 mm Y splitter. Some modification required.

I like the idea of using a switch to switch between 2 input sources than simple y connection cable to combined 2 input sources.
Unless you could ensure you only turn on 1 source at a time. Combined 2 audio source's output into single cable into same input without switch, just not a good idea.
Try that with your home theater, see what does it do for long term.
