: My new setup!

I'm so excited that they actually fit, it was a surprise to me and everyone at the tire shop that they fit over the calipers and didn't rub anything crucial.

I'm in love with the setup, special thanks to Yong!

Now for the technical specs, I'm running 15x8s all around with a 215/70/15 so there is a little bit of stretch. It's only slightly, and I really mean slightly cambered in a bit but it's not hitting anything so there's no real worries. Oh, and it's a -15 offset all around too.

I'm sure the look isn't for everyone, but I really really like what it did.

How does it handle?

Thanks man :)

And it handles wonderfully and rides super smooth.

The more I look at your pic, the rounder wheels make the E look boxier. I think... it could just be me. It's a good look either way. I will have a new setup tomorrow too! I just finished painting the steelies this morning. I should have the tires on tomorrow. Pretty basic, just black steelies and 225/70/16's, nothing like yours. Can't wait to see yours in person Drew.

As opposed to...

square wheels?

You know what I mean. The ballooning of the stretched tires on those smaller rims. The profile of the tire is rounder......I think. Or it just appears that way to me, maybe it is just me.

I like the look, but I think I'd like it even more if you used different style/color lugs, and maybe a tasteful looking small center cap.

This thread has me wondering how these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NASCAR-Set-of-Sportmax-XXR-614-17x7-5x4-5_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em14QQhash Zitem290220917604QQitemZ290220917604QQptZMotorsQ5f CarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories) would look on an Element.

I love it! I think the 15s make the element look more aggressive... like a cat getting ready to pounce.

Good job! Tires for 15s are so cheap..and so are replacement rims... make it a PERFECT choice.

I think the offset kills it for me..why do they stick out so far past the fender? Reminds me of a mini truck back in the day...but if you like it thats all that matters.

That's what I was thinkin'. I like it tho. Kind of a new version of an old idea. Looks kinda urban gorilla. Just needs a bull bar and light guards.

now you're all set for the wide body fenders/flares/whatever.
-15, that's quite a change from stock, but guess you need to be there to clear the calipers.

we all discussed this today! drew is going to do a dark red or maybe blue. it will look even more siiiick when that addition is made.

that is the idea! that is what makes the look right. if they were stock 7s, i do not think i would feel the same. the width is what makes this new look so amazing. we need to fill you in on what the look is.

Keeping close to your stock diameter many combinations are possible.
But why go to an old school 15" on the Element?

Here is 245/45-19's on 8.5's... :D

12mpglol you have any newer pics of this set up. honestly i like it alot. i can see how debris would be a problem but whatever it looks good. might be rocking 15's w/drop soon.something with a nice lip.

They are Kragars. And well, I ordered them.

nice look. How off is speedometer? If its far off from normal you will get more miles on the car than u actually drive. Check this out... http://www.bluegauges.com/prod_yellow_box.htm Mine is about 5mph lower than what i'm driving at highway speed.

I have to say I def like this look, it reminds me of stretched steelies or Corrado steelies a couple of my friends had put on their VW's when I had my GTI. But I started looking into some 15's and 16's, and Bart Wheels are similar and I think their a little wider. But your new setup has helped me give some thought to what I want to do! Looks awesome!

It looks like a NASCAR with that wheel/tire setup. I like it.:)
I always liked the mini truck look. Plus black steelies make any truck look more aggressive.
That is the look everyone wanted me to go with on my 95' Isuzu pickup but, where we live a mild lift and ATs are more appropriate given the year round craptacular weather and barely maintained roads.
We need to move closer to civilization.:-(

Naw. It's just me, too. On the 15 inch wheel, tire has rounder shoulder profile and overall rim-to-rim roundness that both reveal themselves outside of the wheelwell. ROUND ROUND ROUND wheels. Glad you like them.

I have been looking at the "D" series Cragars in a 17x8 black for my E. I have to say the 15's do look really slick and am surprised there was no clearance issues. Yongs looked wild with the staggered but an issue if your 4wd. Definitely looks good with a drop too, on 15's there is so much more wheel well space... Two thumbs up 12mpg!:D

In changing tires sizes all you have to check for is the overall diameter.
As long as you are very close, there will be no speedometer change.
You can find 15" tires the same diameter as 18-19"'s (or reasonably close).
So smaller rim/bigger sidewall and you will have a smoother ride.
I found this out going the other way-19"'s & 45's make for a harsh ride...
FYI :)

Oh, you want to keep backspacing relatively close also...

I think if you go with 15's and a fat lip it would have to be with a really low offset to look good, maybe 16's would be better to clear calipers. 16X8 +25 and 16X10 +35 maybe? Just thinking.......... I would like to fit 18X8.5 front and 18X9.5 +45 all around on my E. Saving for the wheels right now and hoping my other wheels sell!

Looks wicked awesome, Drew! Even better if you decide to drop it.
