First off, pictures will be coming once I'm done :)

Those who have read the greeting thread, know I've only had my E just over a week. Anyway, this weekend was the first time I used my E for it's cargo carrying capacity. We stimulated the economy by buying about 100 bucks worth of wood/fasteners and loaded it all in the back of the e (unfortunately, i forgot to take a snapshot of it). The wood, etc. are for a home made A-Frame! Looking online, it seems the cheapest practice a-frames run about 500 bucks so...

My ****apoo(wow, censored... Spoodle is another name for her hybrid breed), Ruby, and I have only been doing agility for 2 months now, but she loves it, and I enjoy the exercise (and I enjoy the bonding with Ruby that takes place). The E is going to be a perfect vehicle for Dog Agility!

My wife helped construct the a-frame, which allowed me to remember to take photos as we're building it. Right now, it just needs to be painted. My goal is to write up a tutorial for anyone else who would like to make their own A-frame. Additionally, I've been following the USDAA rules (http://usdaa.com/rulesReg_ObsReqs.cfm) for the dimensions (although, I had to make mine 8 feet instead of 9 feet due to the use of sheet plywood.)

If anyone else is doing Agility with their pup let me know :) Or if anyone else is making their own equipment I'd love to swap stories (I've also made 4 jumps out of pvc).

Well, I said I'd post photo's when I was done. Here they are. I have 2 shots, one is the overall a-frame with your's truly standing in the way, the other is of our pup, Ruby, trying it out. I'm actually quite pleased with how it turned out. If anyone is curios about how to build one, etc. I'm writing up instructions (with photos) over the next few days. I'll post again with a link when I'm done.

Anyway, if any of you have dogs that love to "work" agility is quite a fun hobby for both you and your dog!

You could use the E in the act. Have all the doors open, a ramp up and down and have the dog go through the open E. Even over the top of it.:)

Like this guy, but hopefully more gracefull.

Very nice job and nice action shot! One suggestion is to cover the notch at the top with a 2x2 or 4x4 to finish out the apex. The open notch might cause the dog to stumble or trip.

I can just imagine my dog Tank trying to get up that!
He'd make a couple of steps and then just roll down:rolleyes:

Yep, we're going to pick up a pool noodle that way it'll conform to whatever angle we have it set up for.

Thanks for the nice comments guys :)

I used PVC to fill the gap(s) at the apex on our A-frame and dog walk. We also have 5 jumps, tire jump, teeter-totter, open tunnel, and chute tunnel. Soon to make more jumps including double and tripples. All of our stuff is built using CPE specifications. We made all but the tunnels.

I'm bringing my nutcase up to your house, let her burn off some of that extra energy in your backyard. :)

Of course, she'd just rest up on the 11 hour ride home.

Just found this thread and would love to know what you used for the slats, I have been contemplating building one of these bacause they take up alot of room, foor now we have about 4 jumps, a teeter, 3 kiddie tunnels and a set of 6 weave poles. The A- Frame is my Beagles favorite obstacle!
