: 2002 Honda S2000 Needs Good Home
lae10851 12-08-2003, 11:11 AM My husband has decided to go back to his roots. He is selling his S2000 to make room to restore a 1960s Datsun Roadster that has been stored at a friends home for the last 3 years. The S2000 is Suzuka Blue, has about 15,300 miles on it and has more or less been a fun weekend car for us. This particular vehicle is a Honda Certified Used Car (we were 2nd owners) and it has the balance of an extended warranty (7 yr (7/18/09)/ 100K powertrain and 7/18/06 or 48K bumper to bumper).
If you are interested in owning an S2000 for far less than you can buy one new, please drop me an email. I will be happy to send pictures.
Thanks!

lae10851 01-24-2004, 12:03 PM Still for sale. I would love to sell to a Honda Enthusiast!
isdkelly 01-24-2004, 07:11 PM Wow cant sell your cantidate or your car!
...and the car has much more going for it than the cantidate maybe people just dont want to support a bad cause?
They supported the toy drive alright, oh but that was before the over political avitar and sign lines.
So maybe its the cantidate bringing you down? ...well I guess better you than the whole country!

The preceding lines may be viewed as overt political commentary and may not represent the viewpoint of the web site, forum, poster, font, monitor, internet, or anyone or thing in particular - Its just something I thought was funny But maybe I am the only one, if so its served its purpose entirely.
lae10851 01-24-2004, 08:04 PM Here let me help you. Howard Dean is a candidate not a cantidate.
Have a nice day!
elemantal 01-24-2004, 08:10 PM Howard Dean is a crazed chimpmunk.
lae10851 01-24-2004, 08:17 PM Mad republicans, please check in.

Ah, it wasn't so bad. When I heard it on the radio it freaked me out (I was thinking it was a Ballmer reprise), but when I saw it on TV, I just realized he was being a bit over the top.
Hell, I've seen worse from ex-Gov. Ventura and Gov. Arnold.

StLouisPenguin 01-24-2004, 09:07 PM If anyone would like me to reccomend a few good political forums I would be happy to do so. This thread is about an s2000 for sale, not the presidential race, please take it to club X if you wish to discuss politics futher. Name calling of any sort is absolutely uncalled for, and I find it ironic that those who are some of the first to report someone for "dissin'" the E have no problem dissing fellow members for their political affiliation.
I personaly have VERY STRONG political opinions/beliefs/etc....but this is a forum that's main purpose is to discuss the Honda Element, let's all try to remember that.
BriBoy01 01-25-2004, 04:12 AM ummm not sure but I think we just saw the  EVIL  penguin!!! LOL

5:12am? Were you out spending deep freeze time with your E again, Mr. Insomnia?

StLouisPenguin 01-25-2004, 09:29 AM For the record I am not being evil, I am simply being a Moderator. Memembers cry foul anytime a "troll" comes on the boards and starts to trash talk the E, yet no one seemed to have a problem with other members trash talking each other.....well I have a BIG problem with this, especially when it happens in a thread that is supposed to be about the sale of a car.
Under normal circumstances I would have closed the thread, but due to the fact that Amy really does have a car to sell I felt the more appropriate action would be to issue a caution to those participating in a political debate and mud slinging.
If you wish to call me evil please do so in an email to TMac and not in an open forum. That is exactly the kind of name calling I was referring to....thank you for helping to prove my point about how wrong that type of behavior is.
BriBoy01 01-25-2004, 12:30 PM yes brendan still no sleep for me

Diane,
I agree with you 100%. And since lae10851's avatar seems to be drawing so much conflict within the forums I would like to ask her to voluntarily remove it and use a non-political one instead.
Best,

SeattleE 01-25-2004, 01:05 PM on another forum.
A persons avatar is supposed to express something about them. I am a very political person, so I chose the same av that Amy is using...my first post was to say Hi and ask a question about my E. No sooner than I posted it I had three extremely angry responses telling me what moron I was and to go to hell...but nobody bothered to actually read my post!
That thread was eventually locked and at least one of the angry posters seems to have been asked to leave...but notice which forum I post on now??
This group is generally more open minded and able to stay on topic than most that I've been on (for Es and not), let's try to keep it that way.
And Amy,
there's no reason for you to feel that you have to change your av. I did so simply to avoid having another run in with a small minded boob who doesn't understand freedom of speech.
Jesse
OH and by the way - Where are you? I've got a friend in the bay area who is looking at S2000s...

This forum is dedicated to the element but it is also a free flow of information. Every topic gets off track once in a while. Sometimes the resulting dialog is good, sometimes not so much. Either way the moderators must let the forums evolve on there own and only step in when things get abusive. There were a few off topic light hearted jokes made in this forum, that is it. Look around, it happens in every forum, usually involving sexual innuendo.
As for censoring the avitars and sig lines that is just wrong. There are several "bush" themed sig lines and nobody is getting hot about them. Avitars and sig lines are personal expression. They tell the other members a little about you. What happened to freedom of expression. If you censor Amy then you have to censor me. Some may find my avitar satanic.

BlackdogStudios 01-25-2004, 01:16 PM a personal avatar shouldnt matter on a board. its like a bumpersticker and should be regarded as so. I see it as a sign of our times that people are pounced upon with glee over something as innocuous as stating who they prefer for a political race etc. It does show how fragile our system has become and it saddens me greatly.
this board isnt the only place its happening. on the competitions board, a member was jumped upon for having a dean icon. no not in a thread. some yutz went out of his way to just launch an uninspired attack on the person he deemed to feel violated by.
the answer isnt to tell people to mute thier speech, perhaps we bear more a responsibility to everyone to deal with the attacker, if anything to educate or show this type of person that the person hes picking on isnt godless commie scum, or to let him go so far off his axis he self destructs and goes away.
we have freedom of speech and expression, all of us. its one of the freedoms that makes being an american something good.. and those who often wish to play the "your with us or against us" game should watch themselves. for one day. it will be them being told to sit down and shut up. and chances are, they wont enjoy it either.
i think we lost our way. much sadder Benjamin Franklin and Alexander Hamilton warned us. as is the human way. we didnt listen. ;) or we all forgot much too soon.
sorry. but the world is complicated enough. perhaps a sense of restraint is needed whether its a troll, or someone just in despair over how they see thier world. if we were all more understanding and patient, perhaps the guy could sell his car, and everyone wouldnt be so off topic (me included :D )
best to all

eMass 01-25-2004, 01:19 PM To be 100% clear - I do not want to censor Amy. I have simply asked her to voluntarily remove her avatar because it is drawing focus away from the main purpose of this forum, which is the Honda Element, not Howard Dean.
I'm banking on the hope that she cares enough about this forum to do her part in keeping it focused.
Best,
eMass
StLouisPenguin 01-25-2004, 01:27 PM I want to make one thing clear...I am not talking about sensoring....I am simply asking for the name calling to stop. Yes, we all have the freedom of expression, but to a certain point we must conduct ourselves with a little bit of human decorum. I suggested that if the political discussion wished to continue to simply take it to Club X and start a thread. I have no problem with conducting an intelligent political discussion, but in an appropiate location and without the childish name calling.
And agreed....Amy's avatar should stay...it his self expression and I am all for it.

Voluntary or not it is still censorship.
Blackdog, very well said.
BlackdogStudios 01-25-2004, 05:04 PM i must disagree, I think a voluntary removal is wrong. dont get me wrong but then the person starting the issue, the troll the whatever, gets his/her way and a person who asked not for trouble has to change course. it isnt censorship. but in a way isnt it?
we must show patience as a people and as a nation. otherwise it becomes a free for all of harassment and complaint...this isnt fair that isnt right etc etc etc. then no one really is allowed to show any real opinion, and that goes all the way from an opinion on a stereo, or the right car to buy. to whether you like your burger with freedom fries or french fries.
let those with issues solve them on thier own. as long as they stay within the envelope of social order, then welcome them. if they go outside that , then correct them. if they explode. then expel them. there is no need for such actions as asking very established members to change.
best of luck. and best wishes to all. whether they agree with me or not.

I don't remember asking for your approval.
BlackdogStudios 01-25-2004, 06:20 PM you did not, nor do i care to obtain it. your opinion is incorrect the way i see things. and i pointed out why. You do a great job with this site, you have wonderful knowledge about electronics and automobiles. but in this situation. I found you in error and said so, and with respect.
hopefully you were not insulted. and if you were. you have my apologies for any slight you may feel.
no more no less. have a great evening.

dbpaddler 01-25-2004, 09:47 PM I'm a newbie around here but a regular on other forums. I don't mind when forums get off topic and sometimes it's fun. But when controversy gets heated and bashing occurs, it just gets annoying. Easy to lock the thread and Amy can start a new one. If people can't keep their personal political views in check on a forum about the Element, well then they shouldn't post at all and go look elsewhere. People plug their views, websites and what not on their avatars and bylines. She's not forcing her views down our throats so don't blame her if people don't have the decency to respect other's views. Blame them for being narrowminded.
lae10851 01-25-2004, 10:00 PM i agree! Lets end this. Please.
Amy
dbpaddler 01-25-2004, 10:34 PM yep. i'm a 2day old E owner and I don't need to roam around here and see all this bickering.
BlackdogStudios 01-25-2004, 11:28 PM peace, fingers, fins, truce *grin*
i love you guys
i really love you guys
