I just finished a 4 month trip across the country in my Element. It was an amazing journey as I left KY in July and settled into my new home in CA at the end of November. The website below details the whole trip in pictures. Some of the pages are slow to load, but be sure to check out the pictures of the "Welcome To..." signs (pictures of the E in front of many road side signs) as well as the pictures of the Element from the road.

If you're interested in any of the other pictures, start with the 2003 Sabbatical Highlights link as that has about 70 of the more than 1600 pictures I took on the tirp.

Now that I'm in NoCal, I'm looking forward to meeting up with fellow E owners in the area.

In addition, I'd like to give a special thanks to XCElement whom I met via this board and met for dinner in Carson City, NV on my way to CA. XCE bought me a nice dinner as we shared stories of the road since he, too, drove his E cross country.

Yep I met up with Jackson at Red's on Old 395 during his trip. The pictures on his webpage are amazing/inspiring, and given that he was posting his travels in "real-time" with a laptop and cell phone, I was totally impressed. Very 8) . The best use of satellite radio I have ever seen. If anyone has any questions regarding the Element and getting the most out of it, ask him. 4 months out there, cheers dood. Thanks for sharing.

Did you mostly live out of the E? My main question is how do you like the Cabana? Does it keep the weather and bugs out? I like the idea of it (getting a little more room, fresh air in the summer) but have wondered about how well it works.

I love road trips. I am jealous. Thank you.
