: CR-V Steel Wheels

I checked and found that the OEM steel wheels I have left from our long gone '05 CR-V are the same size (16 x 6.5 JJ) as the '09 EX Element wheels.
And, they are not TPMS wheels so sensors are not an issue.
Question is what does the '09 TPMS system do with non-TPMS wheels?
What else besides the TPMS system gets deactivated when non TPMS wheels are installed?
I also need to get rid of the four Nokian snow tires (1/4 worn) that are on the CR-V wheels. They are a different size than the tires on the '09 which is a bummer for sure.
Thanks.

What size are the Nokians? You still may be able to use them without significant differences in the odometer and speedometer readings . . . there are numerous threads on this topic and many here prefer other sizes over the stock.

Check these out for comparisons:

The Nokians are 215/65-16
The "E" tires are 215/70-16
The Nokians are 0.9" smaller in diameter, lowering the "E" by 1/2"
I don't know what the computer in the car might think if the smaller tires are used.
Thanks.

to answer your TPMS question, if you do not have any sensors in the wheels your "TPMS" light wil be on all the time. The system cannot be deactivated.

The computer will think you are traveling slightly faster than you
really are. It should be no problem. Of course the speedometer
and odometer will be off too.

I recall from the CR-V forum that on the 2008 CR-V once the TPMS system is deactivated (such as wheels with no TPMS sensor) that you CANNOT turn off the VSA.
This means if your stuck in some snow that you can't turn off the VSA as recommended in the operator's manual.
If true with Element, this sorta defeats the purpose of snow tires on non-TPMS wheels.
Is it the same with the Element?
Thanks
