I was brousing through some old pictures and found these. Otis was taking steriods and was peeing constantly, so we had to put diapers on him. That was not always easy.

were you explaining the diapers at the store?
It reminds me when I bought this cute toddler shirt and the store and the checker said "aww so cute, whose it for?" and I said "my dog":D

A friend of mine has a male beagle who marks. Training/medicine/etc, nothing could stop it. So he's got a cloth diaper that she lines with maxi-pads! The people at the store must have felt so bad for her, buying box after box of pads! :-o

I have to do this for new male fosters coming into my home. Until they are neutered they will mark. In our world (IG Rescue) they are called belly bands. Yes they work if the belly band fits properly. I make them for my guys customized to their approximate size with a velcro closure. The velcro helps when they start to gain weight since most are emaciated when they come to me. Once we fix the guy, it take about 2-4 weeks and the marking completely stops. If they are already fixed, the marking only lasts a day or two and then they calm down. Belly bands are a rescue persons best friend.

Six, poor Oat looked miserable or embarrassed in that last picture! But we do what we have to!

I would NEVER let people do the things in my house that the dogs do - track mud in, shake dirty water from their bodies onto the walls, let my female, who was in heat, drip blood on the carpet and follow her around with a damp towel cleaning it up (not even going there with human females!), let my male dog literally coat the walls of the house with blood when his tail was injured on the tip - our house looked like a crime scene! - although I must admit it all happened so fast that I didn't really "let" him do it. Go out at midnight in the winter and give the dogs a bath because they got into a skunk on the last "pee run" of the night. And I do it all because I love them so much and they can't help it because they're dogs ;-)
