Just wanted to share that the liner my other half has made has worked very well! It is this black stuff used to line the bottoms of drawers in large tool chest. It lays flat and totally reduces the sliding around of items!

You can pick up a decent trunk liner, from canadian tire for about $40. It's almost the right size, black rubber/plastic, has a lip, and does the job.
