: 2007 18" SC Wheels for my AWD 2003?

I've ran a search for this and haven't found anything real clear.
Can I run 18 inch wheels off a 2007 on my 2003 AWD EX?
Will I need spacers?
Front only?
I found a good deal, I just want to make sure it will work.

Thanks for all the help lately!

I'm in the middle of this process. Have the SC wheels in garage and tires ordered two days ago. Nothing special; just my Michelins on the 18s for the summer and Nokian on 16s for the winter.:-)

Okay thanks....I just got off the phone with the guy selling them; he said I'll definitely need 1/4" spacers for the front to increase 'backspace'. He sounded pretty sure of himself.....Just for clarification these are the 18 inch 5spoke SC wheels. Are these the same wheels you guys are all running? Without spacers I assume?

Yep, those are them. I noticed you have an 07' listed in your profile. Are you running a set on an older E? And is their a difference?

Wheels from 07 and up have TPMS sensors. That's it. Older elements have them too Chief is one that comes to mind. He had some on his 05. I can't remmber who had the SOP that was running them.

Spend some time here to get an idea of what everyone is doing.

But, hey if you wanna see what they look like with spacers then get them too.

Like Brawie said, no spacers needed and I sure wouldn't use them
unless you really needed them. At the dealer I work at we installed
several sets when Honda screwed up and sold them too cheap when
the SC first came out. Prices jumped up and they disappeared before
I got my own E.:x

Wait a minute! Do these wheels come with tires? If they do and they are significantly wider than stock then you may need the spacers to keep from rubbing on the front springs.

OBTW, the spacers will decrease backspace so the PO is definately FOS on that point.

A friend of mine has the sc wheels on his 03 sop with 235/50/18 tires and has no problems no spacers either, you will be fine!

A few questions... Are you adding TPMS? If not, do the SC wheels need valve stems added? Do they use standard stems?

When the sensors are moved a standard size valve stem is used.

You definitely don't need spacers if you plan on using the stock tire size on your new SC rims. I think its 225-55-18. I just put a set of 08' SC rims on my 06' LX with 235-55-18 tires(bigger size looks awesome!) and no spacers so you should be golden. I do cut it close at the front spring housing on the inside of the tire but I don't see a case were it would ever rub unless I got a flat.

It would only be flat on the bottom.:D

I'm setting up with 'sedate' 225/60R18 on the OEM 2007 SC (2007 SC) 5-spoke wheels. Nothing about spacers or hub centers, etc. I'll let you know.:D

I'm running 2007 SC rims and tires on my 2006 AWD, no issues. BTW, the spacer by definition would decrease backspace. Sounds like the seller doesn't know what he's talking about.

Thanks for your reply - L. I'm glad someone answered him in a timely fashion. I hadn't wandered by to see this until now. I didn't have the sensors with the rims and didn't want them, with all their troubles. I like running on the 18s.
