Has anyone on the board ordered the hitch and harness from JC whitney? Does the harness plug in the OE plug in he back of the E?

The harness isn't the right one, you have to cut and splice wires. Go to www.etrailer.com. Better prices than JCW, too.

Honda does sell the plug and pins at the parts counter so that you can wire up trailer lighting to a 3rd party adapter without cutting into the factory wiring. This is very little less than buying an adapter with the plug already on it, but if you already have an isolation box on hand this is a cheap way to go.

Which wiring harness is best, if you know, Dan?

or

?

[Think I'm goin' with the U-haul Class 3...]

They both fit. I got the 33105. It was cheaper. 21 cents is 21 cents! I think that was the only option back in May when I got it.

Buy a generic pigtail and do it yourself from the taillight fixtures for next-to-nothing, but if you insist on spending additional money and acting like you can't figure it out, go ahead. And also be sure to get all paranoid about voiding your warranty while you're at it. Change your own oil at the same time too, if you don't feel guilty enough.

Heh. Whoops, etrailer.com already packed and shipped it. Thanks for the idea though. I'm currently redrawing my in-dash wiring: adding 4 additional diodes and a relay to the stereo to deal with some niggling issues and add a feature to the speakerphone...so I'd just as soon keep the rear of the beast in "easy" territory... :)

Many thanks to Dan for the great reccomendation to e trailer for the hitch and harness.

Shoppin there is painless and really easy. Shipping was processed on the next business day and shipped out on the same day.

Install of the hitch only took 20 minutes form the time I took out the tools and put them back. Did not even need to jack the car up. If you are thinking of paying someone to do it, don't. save yourself $50 and spend it on something else. All you need is a 3/4 and 9/16 socket and a 3/4 wrench. For guys like me who prefer metric its 19mm and 14mm.

No problem, Ming! Let me know if you need an alternative use for your "change drawer"! Glad it worked out for you.

Is the Hidden Hitch strong enough for a Thule 2 bike hitching post rack? The specs say tongue weight max at 200lbs.

I'm looking for an easy hitch to install that'll fit my 1 1/4 bike rack. I'm sort of mechanically inept, so I don't want anything that requires drilling.

Help!
