What lens did you use on those first few photos? The DOF is REALLY narrow! Is that a 50mm prime down at like 1.8?

I'm a total amateur but looking to pick up some more (read: better) glass for my Canon 20d and I'd love to have something good to do really tight DOF shots.

the DOF is so shallow makes it almost look like a toy/model vs. the real thing!

Congrats on the new E

I have no idea what DOF is, but I agree I thought it was a model in a few of those shots! Also the Honda website does not do the Ex model any justice, yours looks stunning compared to how the EX PMM looks on honda's site. Not helping me decide at all, since I thought I was leaning SC, but now I don't know maybe Ex is the way to go?

DOF = Depth of Field
If you get an EX, make sure its 4wd, if you are going to go
with 2wd, get the SC. :D

I shot most of them with a 85mm f1.2 on 1D MarkIII (Hence the crazy narrow DOF). To get the car in full view... I was basically across the street or in the neighbor yard.

FYI: Most of the images on the net still have meta data on them. Just save the image to your desktop and check image properties for how/what was it taken ;)

You're exactly right. EX shots on Honda site doesn't show how boxy and edgy they are. I think they look so much better in person (2009s). I carefuly choose my telephoto lens and perspective that would make it less bubbly as shown on Honda website.

I'm with you on the EX vs SC thing. When I saw the SC in person... I thought it was way too much aftermarket looking. The wheels are nice (But I can ebay that). The "Body Kit" look just seems too... how should I say... "audio racer boy wanna be". And when I found out that SC doesn't offer in AWD. The decision was much easier. I do wish mine came /w NAV and MP3 player (Real engine not 1/8" plug). I would cough up 1500 to get those features.

Nice E! Love that color. You gotta be missing the torque you used to have in that beetle I bet.
