Hello,

I know nothing about power, but do know that everything has it's limits. I plan on using a laptop for GPS, a Nomad 20GB MP3 player, and a cell phone charger all through a DC/AC converter on the power ports. Is that too much drain on the alternator or battery system? I will be driving while these devices are running, not using them while the vehicle is turned off.

Thanks!

btw- we pick up our Element in a few hours...... wee! :)

Your power socket can handle that load just fine.

Yeah, the DC/AC converter should pull appx. the load (plus a bit more %). Most laptops are < 50 watts or so. The other two items are negligable. If I recall correctly, the front power connector is powered through a 10A fuse (so, blows the fuse around 120 watts or so).
