I've used Cascade Audio's sound barriers VB3 and VB4 on the floor in previous cars and have become a big fan of the stuff. Will be buying a 06 Element in a few months, and hope to use the stuff again. Has anyone used this in their Element? My only concern is how thick the product is. It's about 1/4" thick total, and not sure if the plastic floor will line up, and go back in place with the barrier installed. Any feedback would help before I go stock up on the stuff.

Very interesting. I recently did my front doors and spare tire well with Dynamat Extreme. I was about to order some more, but I might check this out at www.parts-express.com (http://www.parts-express.com) . Have you ever used any other product that you could compare it to?

The VB 3 and 4 is the only product I've used on the floor pans, so i can't really compare it to a different product for floor applications. It works really well, and is easy to install. The VB3 is good for tranny humps and wheel wells as it has a thin lead middle layer that makes it conform to pretty much any shape. The VB4 is good for flat surfaces. All you do is lay it down and seal any edges or joints with their VB2 which is an adhesive damper. In my xB I had done the floor with the VB3 and 4, and it cut out exhaust noise significantly!

After doing the floor I put 2 layers of the VB2 down in each of the rear quarter panels http://cascadeaudio.com/car_noise_control/car_dampers.htm. Had used Dynamat extreme in the hatch, and compared to the VB2 it doesn't seem as solid. When knocking on the outside of the quarter panels it gives a solid THUD. No resonance whatsoever! The hatch is solid too, but not as solid as the quarters.

From what I've seen Cascade Audio or Second Skin Audio's products are the top of the line! Had a friend who did his car with Second Skin's Damplifier Pro, and that stuff was top notch too.

Yeah, I've been reading up on Damplifier Pro, and it is a better value than the Dynamat, thicker and more coverage for less money. Cascade seems to maks a better 'cushion'...for lack of a better term.

What I like about Cascade is they have different materials for different applications, and their tech sheets are informative. Can pick out what material you need depending on what freq you're trying to block out the most. The VB-FD is awsome. You apply it between fiberglass layers in whatever enclosure you're making, and it helps with dampening the enclosure. That stuff along with liquid dampening painted inside and your enclosures will be solid (assuming you used enough glass layers :D )
