Okay, after about 2 months I finally recieved my Mr. Clean AutoDry car wash "system".

The commercials touted it as a way to wash and rinse the car without drying, gauranteeing a spot/streak free dry because of the specially filtered an ionized water (filter made by PUR). The product has also bee "approved by Motor Trend".

Anyway, I got it a few days ago but it had been a bit cold to be standing outside washing my car so I finally was able to test it out today...

...and it performed wonderfully. I'd say it lives up to about 90% of its touch-free no spots/streaks claim... I say only 90% because there is still faint streaking visible on the glass... but overall, a very good product and it has cut my car washing time in half!

Thanks for sharing Shen....I had seen the commerial and thought to myself "This would be a god send if it only works"

I will be ordering one now that I know it works!

Thanks for being a Gueina Pig for EOC!

Ever use a water blade?
In the long run, not as expensive IMO.

I have 2 waterblades (so if someone wants to help me out) and let me tell you they work really well, but come on.....with all the E's little nooks and crannies this can take forever and it normally ends up getting stuck in the area around the windows.....it gets stuck and I keep going! It is kind of like a comedy routine.....with very explicit language.

Shen, How did you get such a large graphic on your posts. I thought the limit was 80X80 pixels. I can make a bilever graphic up to 128x 128 under 6k. Is that what you did?

I am hosting my avatar on my own server, and linking it over so I can have the av as big as I want it... (see dive hawaii's... his is like 400x300... which really messes up the posts!)

if you don't have your own webspace that allows remote linking, then the EOC's server only allows you 80x80 6k images to conserve bandwidth. ;)

Exited one, :) So where did you get it and please elaborate on how to use it?
It sounds like a large squeegee to me.

It is a large clear flexible blade with a hard plastic handle.....there is the official, original "California Water Blade" and Turtle Wax also makes one, a bit smaller than the original one.

I bought both at Walmart, I also believe that Target carries them. Your local Auto Supply store should also carry them and you can find them online as well.

Both my local Sam's Club and Costco carry them too. Can't remember what I paid though .

I'm going to buy into the idea of all three:
California Water Blade and California dashboard duster and standard dusters.

This I believe will be one of the biggest timesavers for keeping my car in top clean condition. Ive seen the whole combination for $49 dollars on the net.

Shen, I got the following reply from the following site.

"Got to try in out this weekend. Going to give it a C+. Don't like the soap, seems like it left a film on the finish.....I know that is part of the reason it "sheets" the water off. Just don't like the feel. The filtered rinse works pretty well. I used my own soap on the second car, just used the filtered rinse as a final rinse, seem to help sheet the water off.
I detail cars as hobby and have used a LOT pf products, Don't really think it's worth $29.99, maybe $9.99?"

its like the rubber side of the window washer at your local gas stations. only hand held without a big handle

The thing with the water blade is to make sure that the paint is REALLY REALLY CLEAN! if not your dragging that dirt across your paint over and over and causing tiny scratches that over time will dull a paint job.
