 For about a month now (I have had Ellie for two months today) I can smell radiator fluid when I get out after driving (regardless of time/distance). She doesn't overheat and I have checked fluid levels multiple times with no reduction. She's parked in the driveway and there are no drip stains.

My husband has noticed the smell also, yet the dealer says there's nothing wrong (don't they always say that?). Has anyone else experienced this or have any info on how/why it's happening?

As I said, I have had her for 2 months and she has 3700 miles (yeah, I'm a drivin' freak  ) so I believe the engine is "broken in" enough that I shouldn't still be having this problem.

Suggestions anyone??

Have you checked the upper and lower seal on the radiator itself? Sometimes they can leak there and you'll see a little residue around the seal. They don't leak bad enough to drop the level any noticeable amount but they stink of burning fluid. Our Rodeo had that problem when new and the dealer replaced the radiator after I found the leak.

To this day it still smells of rad fluid occasionally even though I can't find any leaks, have no overheating probs and the level remains constant. It drives me nuts, but I can't find where it's coming from and 80k miles later...no problems other than the occasional smell.

Check Ellie's radiator coolant level when cold...top off as necessary
Not sure if you know what a coolant air bleeder is but wouldn't
hurt to crack it open....once again when cold....top off radiator level as needed as some coolant will come out of the bleeder....
check the overflow bottle when cold and then when at operating temp....
level should rise as the vehicle warms and then go back down as the engine cools....then maybe go thru a car wash that uses high pressure under body sprayers....might be coolant in the unknowns of the unibody construction...........One other thing comes to mind....get some air freshers...LOLOLOL

Yer mine was stinky too but the smell went away after the Coolant level normalized in the overflow. Me thinks it was a tad too full. If it;s not dribblin, I am not worrying.
