MikeQBF 01-01-2004, 11:39 AM Hi, Andrew -
I take it that you'd probably be doing your shopping up in Atlanta. Sadly, I can't recommend a specific dealer based on positive experiences. But maybe a couple of "be careful" alerts might help.
Based on at least one report here on EOC you need to be "en garde" with Team Honda in Lithia Springs. Also, this is a AutoNation dealership, a chain which has garnered an across-the-board reputation for shenanigans both during and after the sale.
Personally, I had bad sales and customer service experiences with Ed Voyles Honda in Smyrna. While my encounters were back in the '80's when Honda dealers with bad attitudes were normal, I did have confirmation on this forum that apparently not much has changed at Voyles.
That said, most of the time everybody's relationship appears to be unique. I was recommended to be careful of a local dealer, yet when all was said and done they were by far the least hassle of the four I was working with, and the most respectful of the relationship. My hat is off to St. Louis (Dave Mungenast) Honda and Ivo Saric for a pleasant and painless purchase experience.
Anonymous 01-02-2004, 02:06 PM My husband had a decent experience at Ed Voyles in 2000 when he bought his Civic. We purchased the E at Gwinnett Place Honda and did so through their internet sales department. I have heard of amazing experiences from others that had done the same but ours was so-so. There was still a lot of pressure and we didn't get THE best deal because we had a few issues particular to our situation to work through but it was not a bad experience either.
Mike, so you spent some time in Georgia, eh? I grew up in Smyrna. You wouldn't recognize the town any longer. The "Vinings" district has grown and become a kind of trendy place for the young and wealthy to live. Most new construction is going for $500K to a million or more and the little bungalows so common to the area are selling for $250K+. Who would have guessed?
Redpunk 01-02-2004, 02:23 PM That's it... I quit
:P
Anonymous 01-22-2004, 03:53 PM Just picked up my Fiji Blue Pearl baby at Heritage Honda in Rome. Great experience and I never felt like I was being hustled. It's just 70 miles north of Atlanta.
walkerwayne 02-01-2004, 10:06 AM Was quoted by Internet Sales Dept. at Hennessy Honda 2003 Elements remaining at $17,973 plus tax & fees - and one 2003 Demo at $17,493 plus tax & fee. I had a good experience buying my Oddyssy there, but since they only had Blue and Gray Elements left, I decided to look elsewhere. I live down the street from Gwinnet Place Honda, but had bad experiences there. Ended up going to Carey Paul Honda in Snellville, and dealt with Forrest in Internet Sales. Got my 2003 Black on Black Element EX for 17,859
toasterplug 02-02-2004, 05:06 PM Walker was that price a 5sp or the auto? What about side-air bags. And did they have any 2003 SOP? Thanks.
walkerwayne 02-02-2004, 09:39 PM It's Automatic, no side airbags, no rack, no mud flaps. As of Saturday they had at least 5 more 2003 Elements left with similar features.
toasterplug 02-02-2004, 10:27 PM hmmm to cool. I have to check them out then. I live in Barrow county and thats no to far. We might have to have a new E owner in Ga soon.
toasterplug 02-13-2004, 06:09 PM Walker did your price of $17859 include the destination fee?
Thanks
Leeloo 02-18-2004, 06:54 AM We looked at several dealerships. South Honda was great, but couldnt get the deal we wanted, Carey Paul treated us like crap. so they can kiss mine. we wound up going to Pensacola Fl.( I work for Delta ) and got a great deal on a used Ex/4wd. 8k miles for under 20. We love it already .
walkerwayne 02-22-2004, 08:29 AM No, my price did not include destination fee. Sorry to hear of your poor experience at Carey Paul...
