: @everyone that has subs in a box in the trunk!
The.Element 08-26-2009, 04:33 PM Do you ever feel like that your box is taking to much room? Maybe it's just me but sometimes i feel that our trunk is small which is stopping me from getting like a 12" sub for the back. I'm just more afraid of things hitting it when i drive cause i have my golf clubs with me like 90% of the time.
So does anyone have a problem with the sub being too bulky or taking to much room in your trunk >_>?
Yoda E SC 08-26-2009, 04:46 PM i am trying to finish the one i am glassing between the back seats and the console, kinda like a console extension, this week. downward firing 8" kicker l5. you cant sit a third person back there anyway so this is wasted space. just a few more layers of glass and chopped mat on the inside, some color matched paint and vinyl for the outside and it is done. although it is mrs. yoda's birthday this week and chances are it wont get any work till next week.;-)
The.Element 08-26-2009, 05:09 PM that sounds to hard! haha.
Tho my friend was talking about taking out my spare tire well and using that as a place but that's also risky : (

insane_sc 08-26-2009, 07:33 PM I have a 12" in a box that is easily removed if needed, I have never had a problem with it there.

You know, that's a good idea. I wonder how a Bazooka triangle sub could be worked into a center rear console. hmm...
richie rich 08-26-2009, 10:01 PM My subs take up way too much room!
Serj22 08-26-2009, 10:28 PM I have bigger Full stacks, I always thought of shoving them in a car and hooking them up, but the resistance would probably be all wrong.

It's impedence...gosh!

you can fit a 10 or 12 there if you want but it is all about making the enclosure fit (and look good for me) i fired mine downward and it is a sealed enclosure cause they use the least amount of space. that l5 only needs .33 cubic feet of airspace and the area between the console and the back seats isnt that big.
honestly though the only good things about the triangles were if you were building a wall and they were butted against one another, they have 30% or so LESS surface area than a comparible round sube where the square l series kickers have 30% MORE surface area.
King of Canada 08-27-2009, 09:10 AM I want to look into mounting 2 shallow 10s in the tailgate. Can it be done?
Also, I'll use the space where the current sub is for the amp.
sonofevil77 08-27-2009, 09:17 AM I Love my subs but the room they waste is killing me. I have 2 audiobohn 12's in an enclosed box. I made my wires all quick connect so I can take it out when I need to but I want something custom over the back compartments.

I'm thinking there would be more airspace in the rear doors. Hmmm...that gives me an idea

I am still thinking of doing 8's in the front doors. I never use the storage space in the front doors. I know a 7" mid woofer will fit in the rear doors. A little cutting involved but it will work.
BigTzElement 08-27-2009, 03:02 PM Betcha mines bigger than yours!
Betcha mine sounds better. :)
The.Element 08-27-2009, 03:48 PM are those spinnaz o.O

i have a 10" D3 thats in a 12" cubic box. doesn't get any smaller than that. pumps some decent bass too. i have no complaints.
BigTzElement 09-18-2009, 03:37 PM are those spinnaz o.O
No, They are Konig Unknown. Konig actually didn't make Unknowns in 20s before those were made. They "tooled" up and started making them for my Element.
But where does the stroller go? An the kids too?
If I had kids that were of stroller age...they would go in the other Element. I own two.(My youngest is 19 and in the Air Force.)
Here is the second E....which technically it was the first E...but it's an 04 and the Kicker E is an 03 so it's the second E.......I am confused....Who are you again??
Yoda E SC 09-18-2009, 04:01 PM here is how mine turned out not using trunk space for the amp or the box

BigTzElement 09-18-2009, 04:06 PM VERY nice....I like it. I love your manufacturer choice as well. :)

Yoda E SC 09-18-2009, 04:09 PM yeah my boys over at metra r&d know some guys up there at kicker and got me one for the project. i couldnt get ahold of toby so i knew they had some other contacts up there.
gibroni 09-19-2009, 11:01 AM Now I've GOT to start my box! I've got the plan, how to build it. I might try a JL 10W4 that's sitting in my basement or I might buy an Elemental Designs 10".
