Since you seem to have the inside track on the 2010 Element, do you know if there are any differences between the 2009 and 2010? I'm on the fence on whether to buy now or wait for the 2010. Thanks in advance for any input.

Your job now is to go find every thread that has speculation about "is there going to be a '10 or not" and post this bit of information of yours.
That'll make everybody stop posting "but my super special, hooked up salesman said that there wasn't going to be any more Elements".
ammolab 09-11-2009, 11:08 PM I saw a "news item" on the Web that said Elements for sure in 2010 and a "redesign" in 2011...
That ole Chestnut again!!

Like most of the 010 Honda's, there will be very little changed.
There will be the "Doggie Edition" list of accessories (not a stand alone model)
that we're still waiting on prices (first part of Oct?).
Snuffleupagus 09-12-2009, 12:46 AM Any news on bringing back the moonroof?

Did you order and auto or a manual transmission???
I'm really surprised no one else asked!!!
Stub-Toe 09-13-2009, 02:05 PM I ordered a manual but was told that it was unavail. so changed it to an auto. I don't know if they just aren't making manual in the near future..but I was unable to order it.
I currently drive a 06 Dodge Ram Quad cab 4x4 Hemi.. It is a lease and will be leaving me in Dec. I didn't have an option to wait. My husband has to do the talking to the service center (he's the employee) and didn't ask if manuals were a no go for 2010. So I can't offer much else than that.
I was reading the other post "2010 Element".. it was getting crazy and negative. ... I'm looking for good positive vibes.. I'm really excited to get my new E. Thanks!!!

IMHO, one have to really love the unique features only offered in E, like enormous front headroom in a small car (both height & the front-depth of headroom), dog friendly rubber floor (absolutely no carpet!), absolutely flat cargo floor, removable rear seats, truck like heavy duty tailgate in a car for both of us & 2 dogs to sit on, & most important, funky boxy but non-soccer-mom-look van-like exterior, to overlook slightly aging craftsmanship in E.
My wife has a 2007 CR-V EX-L with Navi, & yes it is approx. $5k more than my 2009 EX with Navi, but the craftsmanship in plastic interior, leather seats, quick & responsive acceleration, braking, & turning, personally I think it is well worth extra $5k, if we only compared the craftsmanship between these 2 cars. Car craftsmanship has really improve within last couple years, & E has not been catching up.:-(
At the end, we let our heart speak most of time more than our mind, because we still take our E out for weekend trip more than our CR-V. We are just more relax, happy, & most important with the feeling of uniqueness, from our heart, when we are in our E.:D
swaits 09-13-2009, 08:34 PM Pricing any different from '09?

While you were going through the ordering process, did you come across any information on whether the moonroof is an option for the 2010?
Stub-Toe 09-14-2009, 01:31 PM We ordered our E before the 2010 info was available in order to get it by the end of our lease. The service center told us upon ordering there were no changes.
ORANGEE 09-14-2009, 01:49 PM Welcome and be sure to post pictures once you pick it up
do you have a countdown clock going yet?

LMntGuy1982 09-14-2009, 07:19 PM I just asked my salesman about this and he says there's no way its a 2010. Its not even 2010 yet!!! You must be crazy!

insane_sc 09-17-2009, 12:02 AM Congrats!! Im just wondering how honda is gonna hack up the element for 2011, i looked at what Scion did to the xb, hopefully honda just does some small exterior changes but updates the chassis and drivetrain and interior.

I keep hoping for a ruggedized version with diesel
cmpbx 09-17-2009, 02:35 PM Any news on bringing back the moonroof?
So the 09 does not have a moonroof? On the Honda website it is listed as 'standard equipment'. Looking at the "compare vehicles" section it is listed as sunroof/moonroof is standard, but on the regular element page there is no moonroof listed.

No moon roof on the 09. Sounds like a web developer needs to be flogged
Stub-Toe 10-08-2009, 01:58 PM Ok.. as you all have heard... no Manual Tranny's in 2010. Last month Honda called and told me that this would not be an option and I had to switch to Auto or cancel my order... I switched to Auto....
Good news is.. I will have the 43rd 2010 HOnda Element made!! How cool is that!...
So my end order is: 2010 Auto, SC , royal blue pearl.
Just waiting for delivery!! Can't wait to change my profile to an acutal owner!!
scanrps 10-08-2009, 02:46 PM No nav option on the SC for 010, That will make the 09 SC with Nav
a rare bird for sure. Still can get the EX version.
HondaElement 10-09-2009, 05:57 PM I had a chance to purchase a 2009 Element with manual transmission and thought I'd wait until 2010 what a big mistake that was
If Honda thinks this was a decision based on demand then so be it I'll buy another brand......... and I work for Ford!
Honda is a great engineering company but to not offer a manual is just bad business.

Yeah right.
Let's look at the Value of Ford vs. Honda.
Honda $109.9 billion (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=hmc )
Ford $ 22.7 billion ( http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=F)
Looks like Honda makes better business decisions.
Stub-Toe 10-12-2009, 01:33 PM Pick it up tomorrow!!:D
2010 rbp SC
Cool...are the 2010's coming in now?
ramblerdan 10-12-2009, 06:33 PM Cool...are the 2010's coming in now?
It would appear so, based on Stub-Toe's photos above.
BlueSC_09 10-13-2009, 04:58 AM wow 2010 is here...but the 2010 element SC looks exactly my 2009 SC RPB. I didn't see a lot of differences except maybe the inside? Please post some pics inside.
Congrats on your purchase!!
HondaElement 10-13-2009, 12:14 PM Ford is making many changes presently which doesn't happen over night.... Also, Honda is in many different area's other than just automobiles which would make the billion difference.
Ford will be coming out with many new products in the next couple of years that will create better competition that will increase sales.
Oh, look what's happening to Toyota....
Yeah right.

AztecRol 10-13-2009, 02:59 PM It says on the sticker, NOT FOR SALE, does this mean you get it for FREE???
J/K, congrats!!!! Great color!!! Great model!! We look forward to more pix!!
And for BlueSC_09, the 09 had a major exterior re-do, why would the 10 be
different??? Honda doesnt do re-dos every year. The 07 and 08 SC are
exactly the same.
BlueSC_09 10-13-2009, 05:12 PM AztecRol thanks for the information. I didn't know these information and that is why I ask the question.

It look slike Honda has changed the wheel design on the 010"s and it appears in the photos that the lower rocker panel is painted and not plastic, or is that just a reflection ?

These photos are of the SC which has always had painted rockers and different rims from the EX.

I did not realize that but now seems obvious. Since I live in an area that where it often snows, I had to immediately rule out the SC since 4 wheel drive is a must have for me.
Stub-Toe 10-19-2009, 01:31 PM Here are some pics we took this weekend. We really love our new SC. We already got the windows tinted. Hopefully next month, we will be able to get the fog lights and rear tailgate spoiler. Next spring, economy willing, new wheels and tires.
lbpanky 10-19-2009, 07:44 PM Nice ride...
I like darker colors...
I'm looking for a good price on a 2009 SC here in PR...the price for a SC Auto without Nav is $32,589
My current best offer is $28,800. Prices includes taxes (huge taxes, about 30%)..
Enjoy your ride....
:D
