Don't know if this is a problem or "normal", but wanted to check it out with an independent source. I had the dealership install keyless entry on my 2003 EX 2WD Automatic. Keyless entry works fine, but if engine is off, driver door is open and I try to push down lock to lock all doors without keyless entry, the lock pops back up. The only way to lock all doors and hatch is to either lock manually with key once door is closed or use keyless entry. Is this a safety feature or some type of malfunction with lock system? Our other car is an Acura and it allows you to lock all doors by pushing down master button if engine is off and door is open, even my Corolla would let me do that.

I want to get fixed while still under warranty if this is not supposed to be happening. :(

It's normal.
Try lifting up the handle before you push the lock down.
I have keyless entry also, so I never mess with manually locking it.

To post the always-unpopular "it's in the owners manual", if anyone would ever bother to read it or even look it up, answer. There's all kinds of other interesting (but apparently not important) stuff in there too, by the way.
