: Waxing an "E"
Neil-in-Seattle 01-10-2004, 04:49 PM I have a whole garage full of cleaners and waxes and polishes  . I also have a newer Goldwing Motorcycle with 62,000 miles on it and it looks showroom new, due in part to my final choice of a wax :!: . I developed my detailing prowess on a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and got many, many compliments on the car.
Of all the different brands of wax, I finally settled on Pinnacle Souverän Wax http://www.pinnaclewax.com/souveran.html. This stuff is expensive, but worth every penny. It is the best - period! It goes on smooth and easy and is easily wiped off. It leaves absolutely no residue and is smoother to the touch than silk. My second choice is to use one of the Klasse products. http://www.premiumautocare.com/klasseglaze.html
ChumsGum 01-10-2004, 08:16 PM Wow, $60 for a carnuba wax!!! No one will doubt the shine of carnuba wax but come on, they only last no longer than 3 months. Klasse, Blackfire, and Zaino on the other hand will last 12 months. As great as carnuba is, my daily driver Element needs more durable protection.
Itchy 01-11-2004, 12:40 AM All I got to say is Zaino!
Neil-in-Seattle 01-11-2004, 12:37 PM If you go to the Zaino site, they recommend application 4 times per year and not longer than 6 months. I may give Zaino a try, but my years of experience led me to Pinnacle.
spdrcr5 01-11-2004, 08:39 PM Here's a test done a while ago by an NSX Zymol enthusiast...
NSX Wax Test (http://www.nsxsc.com/nsexcitement/waxtest.html)
As you read through the results keep in mind that the Zaino was not even applied the way it is intended. They used Z1 and Z2 by themselves without using the Z6. With that in mind read the results.[/url]
id: 635 01-15-2004, 11:18 AM Larry : do you know if Zaino can be purchased in an auto parts store or is it mail order only?
spdrcr5 01-16-2004, 12:09 AM mail order only as far as i understand it. Zaino sells on their site finally. they ship same day.

Ger Brassfield 02-01-2004, 12:22 AM No one here has mentioned House of Colors' Kosmic Shine, a product I found at the Fairplex Roadster Show (formerly the OAKLAND Roadster Show) where they win awards with shiney cars. I usually stay out of this particular forum, due to my lack of knowledge of waxes and stuff and also prolly because of my lack of expertise and laziness when it comes to waxing ANY car, but I bought this stuff and used it and had a great, smooth, hardly worked hard to get it that way, SHINE. It is also non-abraisive and has UV protectant. I paid $20 for a 16 oz bottle. I'm happy with the results.

morningbelle 02-13-2004, 11:28 AM You guys should check out Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax. I just tried it and it's amazing! It's easy on easy off and dries clear. It also helps with swirl marks! They say it's new technology and a lot better than their Gold Class liquid wax.
I also received a tip to try their Trim Detailer on the plastic paneling and it was incredible. Since the panels aren't that dark, it's hard to see a huge difference but you can tell that it completely conditioned the plastic and gave it a richer look.
