If there is interest in a National Meet in 2005...where should it be held?

I can only have 10 options...so if you don't see a location you like or have a better suggestion please add it!!!

I live about 2 hours from the East Liberty area. If you get serious about a National Meet there, I would be glad to assist with local logistics.

I live near Atlanta so I voted for the South.

In addition to being the birthplace of the Element, East Liberty is pretty centrally located, so it might get a better draw from owners throughout the country.

Centrally located for whom? It's a four-day drive from California. There actually is life west of the Mississippi.

A total E take over off the Magic Kindgom parking lot, that would be awesome. Imagine all those E's with WDW as the back drop. Better yet how about the Epcot Sphere, whoa now thats cool!

Oh ya and I live here! LOL!

boxx turtle talk about two different shapes!!

well i chose ohio, because my family is there and it would be cool if we saw all the newly made e's and have a sea of e's

it would be cool to have it in las vegas because we can have our own limo's and stand out the back "moonroof? or skylight?"

I voted for East Liberty in the hopes we could pull off a factory tour.

Otherwise Texas is closer. Either way I hope we stay away from tourist traps like Orlando.. After all, what kind of meet would it be if we left the EEEEs in the parking lot while we went inside the park..

How about a national park.. Keeping the E in it's element...

My contact in Honda @ East Liberty has made contact with their PR people about possible tour if a meet were held there. Honda is very interested in a meet at the East Liberty plant, but has made no commitment to tours.

Let's have first national meet at the E-factory in Ohio; afterwards, let's rotate across the country each time there's another national meeting.

Clockwise or counter-clockwise?

East Liberty would be especially cool if Honda would either host or allow it to be on their property and we could get a tour -- sorta like the Corvette factory in KY does.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if we get to the East Liberty plant we'll see that the Element is actually made by Oompa Loompas.

Well, if you all think about it, the E's already made the trip from the East Liberty plant to where you are now? If they made it once, they can do it again ;)

My uncle works at the plant in Anna, Ohio. I could see if he could get me in touch with some people in East Liberty. For me it's only about an hour drive, so I'm in.

Honda offers tours of the East Liberty plant. They just need to be scheduled in time. If a 2005 meet at East Liberty is going to happen, now is the time to get the ball rolling. Honda contact information can be found at: http://www.ohio.honda.com/manufacturing/tours/index.asp

T Mac has offered to be the official event coordinator, but efforts to rekindle the fire about six weeks ago got zero response. http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4767&start=30 Maybe after everyone gets done with vacations and other summertime activities the flame may get a little brighter.

Keep the chatter going.

I don't particularly care where it is, we're in. But I voted for the E plant anyway. I figure I just have to activate the 'homing beacon' and the E will find it's own way. now which button was it on the remote?

Put me down for Ohio. I'd love to tour the plant and it would be way cool getting together there. The New Beetle people do a yearly show in Roswell, NM which keeps getting bigger every year. Why Roswell? It came about through "Revere engineered from UFO's", one of the original New Beetle ads. See you in Ohio!!!

I'm torn - I voted for a mid-west state, but the posts about going to East Liberty sound really fun. However, I just measured on a map, and that would be over 2200 miles to drive, ONE WAY :!:
Trouble is, I'm not sure there's a good place to meet halfway! Wichita, KS looks like it's about as close to the middle of the US, but (no offense intended) I haven't heard of it being a big tourist spot.
I suppose we could break the National Meet in 2 part, east/west stretching all the way in the middle states for a draw on each side, but I sure would like to meet people like Brenden and Florida Roadie and Bald Eagle!

without a doubt the most exciting/interesting destination for the 05 club tour!

(btw, personally also interesting since i have clients in the automotive industry, a car factory tour/visit is always very cool, almost sexy...)

I vote for the East Liberty Plant Tour. It will take an organized effort to arrange it, because Honda usually only accepts groups for tours. Presently all tours of Marysville and East Liberty are suspended. I spoke with Bobbi in the Business Office at Marysville, and she said that tours may not resume until Fall of 2005.

It would be great to see the E assembly process, and we might even score a tour of the Marysville plant to see the Accords and Acura TL's.

Hmmm. I could swear I voted once before, but since I don't see my name in the results tally, I suppose I better vote here and now. Guess there have been various polls on the subject.

It's one of those circumstances where this being a large country is a disadvantage. Somebody's gonna have to drive a long way to attend one of these, and be pretty motivated to do it! I can't really say why I overcame my reluctance to drive as far as I did last spring, but I can definitely say it was worth it, and will do it again with glee this time. Are we all the same because we own Elements? Nope, not on your life. But I can say I enjoyed meeting every single one of the 15 owners (and their company) I did last spring. (It also provided them tons of additional information with which to poke fun at me!)

Like Shen said, i]my back yard[/i] would be optimal, but since that's not likely, my vote is for the next most logical: "E, go home."

So, is this thing really goning to happen?? I would love to go to the Honda Factory Plant, even if we don't get a tour, maybe they can offer something else. It would be cool to just see the building and see lots of E's!!!!

Summer would be a good time to do this, we could advertise this in other places, put flyers on other E's we see...try and get hundreds of E's in one place!! That would be awesome!!!

Please tell me that this idea has not been abandoned!!

We were actually thinking about driving to the plant sometime this year just for fun...but this would give us an actual reason!!!
