It sounds like my windshield is rattling after I get up to speed... around 45 and above. It sounds like it is coming for the outside of the windshield. Maybe the plastic molding. Is this the problem that everyone else is having.... or is I'm a different noise?

Mine sounds like tiny grains of sand hitting the windhield. I plan on replacing the windshield in the spring, (one crack, 3 chips.) I will see then if it disappears.

The Element makes noise from many different places depending on the temperature and road conditions - the A pillars, dash, cowling, doors, side windows, tailgate, etc, etc. Get the windshield replaced, but don't expect to end up with a quiet E when it's done. Check out the numerous posts on rattles, creaks and other creative sounds that your Element can make for you.

The only time my Element doesn't make any noises is when it is parked and the key is in my pocket!

Noisy cabins do not have to be par for the course. I had a creak, and it was fixed by my service folks. I may be a lucky one, but since then, I have not had a persistant noise in my cabin. The windshield will whistle, or the dash will rattle a bit, but none of it lasts more than a few minutes. If you have a persistant sound in your cabin, distracting you from driving, please do all the rest of us on the road a big favor and bring it in to your Service center and have it fixed. Honda is more than happy (usually) to address any quality issues with their products. The more the service folks find out, the better the E will be in the future. Just my 2 cents.

I have been experiencing a windhshield and/or dashboard rattle/tapping/clicking noise for a couple of weeks. It started after I had the car for about two weeks. Anyone else had this? I thought it was the left dash noise in the TSB, but I think it might be a loose windshield. I put some small pieces of rum in between the windshield and dash, and it helped a bit, but looked like crap, of course.

Before I start the hassle of bringing it in, I want to get as much info as I can. Has anyone else had this? :(

Mi windshield has rattles since new (Oct 2003) around the top centre, or is it the left side, or maybe the right. But i must agree with H2O, you'll just notice another, somewhere else in the Beast, until you can't be bothered to go through the hassles of taking it in for service. I did get the rattling drivers side window fixed by getting the window regulator replaced under warrenty. It is nice to be rid of that irritant.
Now i just look forward to a Saturday morning , 5.00 a.m. , crusie to Timmy's with a Fine One, and enough volume on the subwoofer to drown any car noises. I'm getting it undercoated Thursday. Supposed to help with road noise such as stones hitting the rear floor.
I'm a "fussy" person but with my E , i've learned to "relax and enjoy", instead of "listen and worry".
Enjoy your Honda classic and replace the window if it breaks or cracks.
