: Honda enthusiasts vs. Element enthusiasts
HondaElephant 01-13-2004, 12:47 AM Personally, I don't like Honda (I know sounds weird  ), but I love the Element :D . I know it's a petty debate, but what do you classify yourself as?
I'm not a Honda enthusiast because I dislike most of their cars they have come out with such as the Civic, Accord, CRV, Pilot, Odyssey, Vans, Passport, CRX and I forget the rest  , but then again I love the Element :) .
It's not your stereotypical Honda design and marketing avenue and I think that's one of the great things about the Element. I guess I can be called more of an Element enthusiast.
Get my drift? Any body feel the same or different? :x
1Dumbassscreenname 01-17-2004, 10:27 PM i used to own a 98 hatchback civic and had the works put into her, including fully built d series motor and a turbo kit to say the least, then she was stolen, and i gave up. I also hate the majority of the kids that sticker up their civics and talk smack to guys with LS1's and other "muscle" type cars, it just casts a big shadow over the honda crowd.
so i was an enthusiast for Honda, but now i just wanna go camping in my E
LmentalMastiffs 01-19-2004, 03:10 PM 8) I've only owned one other Honda. It was a give away from a family member. It had sat for 6 yrs not being used. It was an 86 Honda Civic, good condition, needed some TLC and a whole new set of tires. :o
Only had 86k on it, could have sold it for a nice size down payment on my E, but the Elment wasn't out yet. Oh well.
By the time I got ready to buy my new SUV, the Civic had started to fall apart, literally, and at one point, stalled right in the middle of the 'Mixing Bowl', I94/I495 & I395 ~ Springfield, VA; and as I began to panic, I noticed in my rear view a HUGE Tractor trailer barreling down on me.
I knew then it was definately time to trade.. Even if I wasn't able to get my SOP and had to go for what the dealership had on the lot.. But I got lucky, the day I chose to go, they had just gotten their first SOP and I bought it right then and there!!
So, Honda vs. Element, I feel both are GREAT; But, I love my SOP E!!!! :D
E ON!

PEachMonstEr 01-30-2004, 01:29 PM i went vw beetle to a civic to a sentra back to a element
baltwins 01-30-2004, 04:56 PM Never thought I would own a Honda. The E is the only reason....
MatT3T4 01-30-2004, 05:39 PM I love Honda...and I love the E. 8)
I've owned a B16A CRX, an Accord, a fully built and turbocharged B16A Civic coupe, and right now I have the Element, and a B20 Civic hatchback. I miss my old coupe...I used to run away from Ferrari's laughing my ass off in it, watching the look on their face in the rearview (although I would have traded my car, and one of my nuts for their car...hehe), the look was priceless.
So yeah, I am a true Honda enthusiast. You'd never expect any of my cars to be much of anything...just lowered with wheels and exhaust...from the outside. Other than that, unless you knew you were looking at an intercooler, and not a radiator, there were no outward signs that you were about to get stomped...and yes, the LS1 guys got stomped.
My Element is lowered with an intake, and a sound system. I am waiting for a good company to come out with a header, and an exhaust system...then I will slap on some wheels and call it a day. My Civic is just about finished in the shop, getting the B20 installed. I'll probably slap a custom turbo kit on it...HKS exhaust manifold, T25 turbo, Spark intercooler...and the rest of the crap. I don't need to slap a huge 60-1 on it because it'll remain a street car...just want about 250hp out of it and I'll be happy. I don't plan on opening the engine on it.
Even if I was super-rich, I'd still mess with Hondas. I decided to open a speed shop simply because I love them so much.
kato76 02-04-2004, 10:24 AM My E is the only Honda I have ever owned, 3 ford escorts, a chrysler horizan, a jeep wrangler, and now my E. she has to be the fav out of all of them. The last escort (which I got in college) had 190,000 miles on it ... ran great up until the day it died... $%#@$#%$%$ Sorry I'm not bitter but it make s me made
Pimpn E 02-04-2004, 10:53 AM I was never a Honda enthusiast. I always admitted they were extremely well built, but the designs never really intrigued me. I also thought they were a bit overpriced for what you got. The S2000 was the first Honda to really catch my eye, but not enough to buy when a Boxter will outrun it for roughly the same coin.
Along came the E, I needed to check it out. I was actually amazed at the price, I expected it to be much higher. Knowing that it, like all Hondas would seemingly run forever...I bought it.
salutlemonde 02-08-2004, 11:04 PM I'm definitely an Element enthusiast.
Most of Honda's cars are boring - the S2000 and NSX being the exceptions (other than the E). OK, I lumped Acura with Honda, since they're Hondas in Europe.
I do like Hondas a LOT better than Toyotas, and I'm undecided about Nissan and Mazda - although they seem to be improving.
Now, if Honda starts making some more interesting cars, this can change.
BTW, I think the concept SUT is ugly - it's like they grafted a GM pickup truck onto an Element and lost all the cool stuff along the way. (http://www.hondacars.com/info/prototypes/sut.asp?bhcp=1)
80honda 02-09-2004, 08:08 AM I have only driven Hondas since 1980 hince the online name. And everyone of my immediate family!
pagefan 05-06-2004, 07:52 PM just read my signature...
:D
Bald Eagle 05-06-2004, 08:06 PM Element fan only. Honda makes great cars, but with the exception of the Element they are totally and hopelessly devoid of personality.
BoxTurtle 05-07-2004, 04:58 PM This is my 1st Honda, the E for me was love at 1st sight. Knowing it was a Honda made my purchase all that much easier.

lizzurd 05-10-2004, 04:58 PM My last five cars were an 81 Accord, 87 & 89 Civics and a 91 Integra.....must make me a honda entusiast.....doesnt hurt that i have been working for honda dealers for the last 15 years either i guess.
GYPSYTDA 05-14-2004, 08:18 PM my first honda was a Prelude.. i was in a head on accident going over 70 mph and not only did i survive but so did my prelude with simply a cracked headlight holder.. the headlight even survived.. the deer blood and fur was all over the front end.. and it was a HUGE deer..
I still drove my prelude for another 6 years after that.. until it was replaced with the Integra we have now had for 8 years, still kicking like it was new!
The integra will eventually be replaced by perhaps the new SUT, or maybe another acura sedan.. dunno yet we will likely do that next year..
And of course my 1 1/2 year old (soon to be 1 1/2 year old) Element.. LOVE it!!
Honda's for life.
How's that for a new slogan!
davidsky 06-27-2004, 01:44 PM love the E, lukewarm on Hondas. More of a fan of Audi/VW, BMW, Saturn and Mazda (Miatas especially). Also love the Datsun/Nissan Z car, the Datsun 510, Minis (the old kind) , British sports cars that always fall apart and Chrysler corp muscle cars from the 60s and 70s
StLouisPenguin 06-27-2004, 01:54 PM I have to say Honada & Element.......all and all most of my family members are HUGE fans of Hondas/Acuras......and just as in everything in life you get what you pay for......when faced with buying my first new car I went to the dealership to buy a new civic and left with an Element....I had always been crazy for the Element.....but it took a little convincing of my husband. My mom drives an Acura, My brother drives an Acura, my sister in law drives a Honda, and my husband drives an almost 15 year old civic that can kick the crap out of my E in excelration.....go Honda go!

that is a honda family.. awesome
in my family's case: my brothers drive gm's my mother i am sure has a gm.. otherwise a nissan.. my father a few years back went with a crv (smart man despite other choices in his life, sigh)..
my husband's family is all gm.. (love them dearly, but) these are convinced they are being good american's by choosing a gm, even though they have replaced them every other year at the longest.. sad, very sad!
yeah Honda! My acura integra is 8 years old.. my element is 1 1/2 ( had a prelude till it was over 10!)
Lerch 07-11-2004, 07:59 AM From Atv's,motorcycles, and now cars Honda hasnt let me down once. I guess I'm a Honda fan.
ElementMaster 07-16-2004, 03:20 PM I LOVE HONDA THEY ALWAYS COME OUT WITH KICK ASS CARS! HONDAS RULE! OK THEY JUST ALWAYS SET THE BAR FOR OTHER CARS TO MEET AND OTHER CARS JUST CANT DO IT!
cotton 07-20-2004, 11:23 AM This is actually my third Honda vehicle but I don't consider myself a Honda enthusiast because after my `97 Honda Accord, I was thinking about other makers. That is until I saw the E! When I saw the Element, I quickly changed my mind and really became an Element enthusiast.
I think this was the only car I have really, really wanted. :D
