My drivers side power window makes a scratching sound when being rolled up. If I gently pull the glass inward (towards the drivers seat) during a roll-up, the sound goes away. Obviously something is rubbing inside the door panel. Ha sanyone else had this problem. I hope the tech doesn't scuff up my dooe panels...my E is brand new :-(

Although I can't say I've experienced the noise you describe, I just wanted to say "hey" to a fellow 2004 E owner in California. I just got my orange box 5 days ago, and am carefully breaking it in (have about 400 miles on it now). I wish I had more energy to drive after work, but I'm usually too tired. When I do drive it, I find myself shunning my usual shortcuts in favor of the "long way". Traffic doesn't bother me as much either - it's fun to see people in their 'normal' cars gawking at my orange E. I make a game of trying to interpret their gawks - love it? Hate it? Don't know what to make of it? :)

Anyway, good luck with your window sound. If I hear it in mine, I'll let you know.

It sounds like there is a small stone lodged within the inside of the outdoor weatherstripping. Don't wait too long as this will eventually scratch the glass. Have your dealer remove the weatherstripping and clean whatever debris may be stuck inside.
