: any good experiences w/ service dept?
dawghaus 01-13-2004, 10:36 PM it seems like getting quality service is a matter of getting the work done by quality people. i've read some horror stories on the boards. anybody have any good ones? the list of member recommended dealers is pretty darn small. and not one in the east. what??? that can't be right. certainly some member out there can recommend a service department in the dc /bmore area. i didn't have the best experience the first time and now that it's time to go back... i'm a little nervous. i'd just like to be a little more confident in the people taking care of my baby.
brendan 01-14-2004, 12:02 AM I'll be watching this thread too. From what I can tell, I don't want to go where LittleDogBox (I think) has been going. :(

LmentalMastiffs 01-14-2004, 12:15 PM :) I can say my Svc Dept has taken great care of me. Even after my first visit I whined and complained about who ever worked on/drove my E being a heavy smoker and I didn't want that sort of person in my E.
They are always polite and friendly. I don't ever have to wait long. And if I think of something while I'm there, they'll go back in and check it out for me. They don't ever tell me, 'you'll have to re-schedule for that.'
I do have one beef at the moment. My last oil change, they failed to fill my fluids. Which they've done every time I have visited!! Oh well, one screw up..
E On!!

keymonkey 01-14-2004, 02:55 PM I have a thread running under Issues about a windshield creak fixed at O'Donnell Honda in Ellicot City MD. A bit out of the way for you DC folks, but if you are at your wits end with the local Honda Service, check them out. Jerry Fir is the Service Manager, and a nice guy, who worked with me for four days to get my noise located and fixed. The fix is now the "Wiper Cowling" TSB. I look forward to my first oil change there in 2300 miles.
bOOmEr03 01-16-2004, 11:42 AM O'Donnell does do kick ass work!
I thoroughly enjoy having them as my service dept and I am sooo happy with just the entire experience there! Every time I take bOOmEr in for service, they fill my fluids up, rotate my tires, and wash it!!! and being as my E was the very first new new car that I had ever bought and I had heard all kinds of horror stories about dealing with service departments I walked in for my first (complimentary) oil change and was all set for a bad experience but they were sooo nice and when they asked if I needed anything else done (after telling me that they were going to do the oil change, rotate my tires, top off my fluids, and give it the once over...) I was like, uh....thank you...would it be too much to ask if you guys could maybe was her for me??? and the guy was all like...well, that's no problem, anytime you bring her in for service we wash it for you!!! wow man.
seriously though, O'Donnell's Service Department kicks ass!
They even have free Starbucks coffee in the waiting room!!!
(and since I was there at like 8am on a Saturday after going out on Friday night, i thought i had died and gone to heaven!!!)
graymare 02-26-2004, 07:06 PM I won't rave about the actual dealership, but Bill Allen at Sheehy Honda (previously Mt. Vernon Honda) on Rt. 1 in Alexandria is reputed to be the best Honda mechanic in the country. He is quiet, unassuming and absolutely wonderful. If you have a Honda problem -- no matter how sticky -- he can fix it.

I'LL RAVE ABOUT HIM AND SHEEHY!!!! Whatever issue I have had, Bill has made it better. Just this past weekend, I developed a crack in my windshield. Tuesday, I get a new windshield for free and Bill is taking a look at my subwoofer issue.
I love Sheehy Honda, and Bill is truly AWESOME!!!! Take it from 'family'.
E ON!!!

If you live in Maryland I highly recommend O'Donnell Honda.
My E had about 15k on it when I got the corner cracks in the windshield, small dot size pits under each wiper blade. My VIN # outside the range of the TSB. I called the dealer ahead of time and explained about the cracks and told them I was coming in armed with the TSB and a 23 page report of complaints logged thru the NHTSB about E windshields. When I arrived I laid all the paperwork on the dash and they said they would look at the windshield. After about 40 minutes they came out and said my oil change and tire rotation were done and that they were ordering me a new windshield. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!! I was ready for a fight that never came. SO.....If you come prepared ahead of time with all of the appropriate documentation...the dealer really can't contest the issue. I think the word is starting to get out to all the dealers, and there is enough documented cases of windshield problems that E owners have a better chance of getting windshields covered under warranty. If your dealer won't warranty the windshield, go to a different dealer, there are those out there that will want your business. Jerry Firr at O'Donnell Honda will take care of you.
