A Two Month Small Town USA Adventure
March 15th – May 15th, 2010
Presented by EOC4ME & wgwood
Sponsorships available, e-mail glenn_mcelfresh@msn.com (glenn_mcelfresh@msn.com) for info.
Hello fellow EOC’ers!
We’re embarking on a two month lower 48 state road trip, visiting our fellow E’ers in Small Town USA.
You, our fellow EOC’ers will help navigate this American Adventure.
So, what makes your Small Town USA piece of Americana an ideal candidate? That’s what we and your fellow E’ers want to know!
Do you host the biggest, oldest, most outlandish or crazy site that your E’friends must see?
Please PM or E-Mail us, before all our stops and stay over’s fill up!
We’ll be leaving from Southern California with EOC4ME and the trusty Lil’Guy 5 Wide Tear Drop in tow.
Our New Small Town USA E’friends will be signing and adding notes to the Tear Drop for all of America to see!
Our sponsors will see their names plastered on EOC4ME as wgwood could only do!
SO AMERICA, can you say ROAD TRIP???
Well if your brave little zombie fighters, your always welcome in Sunny San Leon:-D

EOC4ME 12-03-2009, 04:36 PM Was this LightHouse made famous by fending off ghostly pirates? If so, EOC4ME will make this a scheduled stop!
Thanks for the Forest Gump theme! With Luck, some of our fellow E'ers will tag along for a day, mile, hour, etc.

Diane,
We plan on going in a large loop. Heading east through the mid-southern states, going north through the mid-eastern states, and then west through the mid-northern states. We will probably be passing by SB near the end of the trip.
The itinerary is not set yet. We would like to hook up with as many EOC'ers as we can on this journey. We will NOT be driving on interstates. Blue Highways all the way. (If you have not read Blue Highways by William Least Heat-Moon I heartily recommend it)
So we are looking to our EOC family to give us ideas of places to experience and fellow E owners we can meet up with. We will be starting off with a small 2 E caravan, one with a TD, one with a canoe. Join us for a day or two. Please keep the suggestions coming.
Regards,
Greg

Santa Barbara Mission, the brew pub on State street, the Daily Grind Coffee shop. And if your are so inclined go to Santa Ynez valley for the vineyards. Of course it has been a while since I have been there but really enjoy the visit. Also might want to check out Ventura a great little coastal town.

No !!! Don't stop him . . . When Glenn is posting like that my laptop charges 2x as fast and the screen is a little brighter. :eye:
If you guys are near Milwaukee-up-to-Green Bay on the return leg, there is great State Park you may want to camp in . . . Kohler-Andrae State Park, on the lake in Sheboygan Falls. Beach front camping - the place is always booked solid but there are some non-reservable sites set aside for first come-first serve. If you time it for a mid-week stop over, you would get in. ;-) ( I could also shoot up and visit or even snag some sites ahead of time. )
Kohler = the Kohler plumbing fixture billionaire guy; there is a Kohler plumbing museum in Sheboygan Falls that is way better than the Ball of Twine thing. :cheerleader:
Here's a rare set of photos of Glenn's 1st E and 1st Teardrop along with my E and my Teardrop in Joshua Tree National Monument.
I'm still on my 1st E/1st TD . . . I think Glenn is on his 3rd E/3rd TD (or 4th or 5th ??) lol

Box4Rox 12-11-2009, 10:15 PM Hello fellow E'ers!
Based on Mid-March thru Mid-May weather, here's what wgwood has come up with thus far:
If you are stopped, robbed and held hostage by banditos at "C", I get dibs on the Wenonah and the Little Guy.:030:
Route 66 on the last half of the return leg ?
EOC4ME 12-11-2009, 10:30 PM Hello BIG MIKE!
Let's hope our trip takes us farther than "C", before those banditos fill my gun-sites
We're still in the planning stages, but I thought I'd better post what we had thus far.
Won't you become a Sponsor? :-)
Be safe, Glenn in DV . . .

SURE !! ;-)
I have a bunch of SPAM left over from some old climbing trips. I will send that to you guys . . . ( care of Miss Ellie because some of the cans are bulging a little and she/he/it can duct tape them up for you)
Is this your 2nd or 3rd Teardrop ? I think I remember you saying your 1st one was inherited from your Dad. Are you guys planning a mix of motels and campgrounds ?
EOC4ME 12-11-2009, 10:54 PM A case of SPAM will work! Gotta support our local Spammers
For the record: 2nd TearDrop and 3rd "E" (CDI'ER was retired in AZ). This will be a CAMPIMG adventure, no Hotels are needed . . .
So, my fellow E'ers! Please join BIG MIKE in sponsoring E'ticket 2010!
We'll leave the "E" on,

EOC4ME 12-11-2009, 11:08 PM OF COURSE!
I know that Kartchner Caverns State Park in AZ will be only 1 of the MANY great Landmarks your ScreenName will roll through. Of Course, It'll be seen by your fellow 2010 Death Valley Campers, even before E'ticket begins!

Richelle and I will contribute something to your cause but it will have to wait until after DV.
The Holidays are putting the crunch on us plus we're forking over $200 for campsite reservations to Kamp Klamath next week for September's 2010 West Coast Meet.
Box4Rox 12-12-2009, 12:18 AM LOL -
That photo will keep the Banditos at waypoint "C" away for sure . . . ;-)
Crazy Gringos.
wgwood 12-12-2009, 01:21 PM Waypoint C is Big Bend National Park. I am going to be taking campsite photos as we travel. Here is a breakdown. I have only picked camprounds as far as waypoint L in OK. M and N are just placeholders for now.

These are not the only campgrounds we will be staying at on the trip. In fact, they only will take up 15-20 nights. They consist of 10 areas and it will take me a day to get all the photos in each area. So we are asking you all for any of your favorite campgrounds along the route that are worth a stop. Speaking of which, that route does not show the roads we will be following. It's just Google Map's routing from each waypoint.
I have also been looking at roadside attractions and cool places to visit. Here are some proposed stops:

What the hey! your traveling north of Houston just to avoid me!
Stay south of I10 on the way to Houston on Hwy 90, great small towns, hillsides full of longhorns, exotic deer & zebra.
Nice park here, especially if you like gators!;-) Make resies, it's popular!
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/brazos_bend/
On hwy90, I've heard this one is real nice, but haven't been there yet.

Stop by San Leon for lunch, hwy 146 takes you straight up to I10 to Beaumont, allowing you to sidestep Houston.
You also get a nice drive over the Fred Hartman bridge, which overlooks the Houston Ship channel and is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the state.

Jojo,
We plan on staying well below the 10 after leaving Big Bend NP. The map only shows google's directions from waypoint to waypoint. The goal is stop by San Leon for lunch (if you will have us) and then head up to Sam Rayburn. Probably stay at Brazos Bend before that. Our goal is to stay off the interstates as much as possible.
When we firm up the timeline, we will let you know. I mean, we did plan this whole trip around meeting you and Mr. Jojo. :zombie010:
Regards,
Greg

EOC4ME 12-12-2009, 07:51 PM If you want to supply the "HOOD ART", We'll be happy to plaster it on EOC4ME for YOU! Of course you could just go with half the HOOD for $100. :-)
Also, your ID or HOOD ART, as well as anyone elses, will be applied as soon as they/them become a E-ticket Sponsor. So, one's ID/ART could be on EOC4ME for well over 6 MONTHS!!! Same goes for any Sponsor that joins the E-ticket TEAM for only $25. :-)
Miss Ellie as well as all our other EOC'ers are always welcome on our TEAM!!! :-D

EOC4ME 12-16-2009, 05:04 PM A Big Thank You For All The PM's & E-Mails We've Received Thus Far!
We've been hard at work putting together our Road Map for E-ticket 2010.
As you can imagine, we've had many EOC'ers ask about making an donation. Without the EOC, this Small Town American Adventure would have never happened!
With the help of some fellow E'ers, all donators will now have their EOC ID's applied to "EOC4ME" regardless of donation.
Thanks again Peep's, Glenn in DV, CA
Here's what our fellow E'ers wanted to know:
What is E-ticket 2010's donation goal and what will my donation be used for?
We've set a $1,125 donation goal for our 7,500 mile trip.
100% of E-ticket 2010's donations will be used for fuel (7,500 miles / 20 mpg "towing teardrop" = 375 gallons X $3 gal = $1,125).
What do I receive for donating to E-ticket 2010?
All donators regardless of donation will have their EOC ID, screen name, applied to EOC4ME during our 2-Month 7,500 mile Road Trip.
How can I donate to E-ticket 2010?
Via PayPal https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=10583323 (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=10583323)
Feel free to PM Glenn "EOC4ME", with any E-ticket 2010 questions.
You'll get something from us next paycheck, + lunch:grin::food004:
