Sorry, I don't have any pictures, but I can say I was fairly impressed with the snow handling. We went out hunting rabbits and were dragging bottom, but the E kept going with just its stock tires. We didn't try anything to nuts, but it got the job done anyway.

Good to hear it can handle snow. I live in BC, Canada (enuff said) I have a 10 yr old Dodge Ram and will keep it for hauling hay and other heavy farm stuff but am looking for a vehicle that will do for everything else. So the Dodge is ready to go into semi-retirement. Too expensive to maintain for everyday use and TOO big. Anyway, I do live on a small ranch outside of town with a long laneway and I have huge dogs which count on weekly trips to local fishing lakes. I am very impressed with the Element and it is so far my first choice. I find other SUV's too pretty <chuckle> I guess that the 4WD should be my choice tho. Admit that I am worried about ground clearance.

Have fun eh

I've posted some pictures on this off-road forum attempting to give an idea of the roads my Element has handled recently. The snow I've been encountering of late is the late season stuff on forest roads. Being old it can support the weight of the Element if I get in too deep - that happened with my RAV4. So I do check the depths of the ruts that others have plowed through it.

In other rough conditions the skill of the driver is important. While clearance is poor, especially the breakover angle, the forward visibility is good, and the turning radius great. I try to keep my wheels out of the ruts, and cross berms (such as waterbars) with care.

I'm planning on vacationing in the Chilcotin and Bella Coola valley next month. I've read that some of the 'decommissioned' logging roads are notorious for their water drainage swales. Since my RAV4 handled that kind of road in the Charlottes last year ok, I'm hoping the Element will do as well.
