Live in the Montgomery County area and work in the Bucks Co. area. Seems as if more and more Elements are showing up in the area. When I first bought mine, last summer, they were few and far in between. :D

SE PA here. Hatboro, to be more specific. I've seen quite a few elements on the road in the last few months, so there's probably a bunch of owners in the area who either haven't yet discovered this website or, if they are here, they're not chiming in.

Horsham here, work in Southampton. People may be shy, but I foolishly wave to all E cars driving by.
How do you find driving in this cold weather? I am thrilled so far with performance.

Hi :)

I couldn't be happier with my Element. I switched jobs (transferred, really but it's a long story) in August of last year. I used to commute all of 4 miles to Warminster (usually by bike), but when I got the new job (in NJ, just north of Trenton), I decided it was time to retire my old car and get something that was better suited to the longer commute. I wanted AWD because, after last winter, I was done with rear-wheel drive! Enter the Element...

The rest is history. I can't stop telling people how great it is in the snow, etc. But then, why am I telling you? You obviously already know!!

:D

I've got a doggy passenger too. A yellow lab pup, but you won't see her head hanging out the window any time soon. She chewed up my seatbelt buckle the day after I bought the E, so she rides in a crate in the back.

Anyway, see you around (and if I do, I promise I'll wave back! 8) )

wow..locals. I'm in Ardmore. I'm all around the various hospitals...Chester County, Paoli, Holy Redeemer, Elkins, and quite a few others. In orthopedic sales and am beating the crap out of my A6. And with the last trip to the dealer and a $1700 estimate to fix the lower linkage, I'm done. Put my down payment on a new 03' SMM EX auto and getting a viper remote start, keyless entry system put in. Hauling around instruments and product for work will be a godsend in the E, and then when the warm weather hits, I can fit my kayak and bikes inside instead of using a rack. The only downside is that I become the local moving van for my family now. I can hear the calls from mom now. "I just found this bureau at a garage sale, can you come pick it up for me?" ugh..haha.

We are getting more results each day. I am in the Altoona,Pa area. I know there are a lot of owners in the State college area who may not be aware of this site.

I hear some dealers are getting allocation cuts on the element. Others have waiting lists. Just depends on the size of the dealer and geographic location.

My E should be here by this weekend. I went with the 03 over the 04 and figured I'd rather spend the difference in price on getting my own alarm/keyless entry/remote starter installed. Also asked the Conicelli service guy about the windshield breakage. He's only see one so far and they replaced it under warranty. He didn't even know about the service bulletin, but said that impact damage is almost always very obvious and a little pinpoint hole noticed by a pen wouldn't be considered impact. That was reassuring since I'm going with the 03'. Since the Eagles aren't in the superbowl, I'll probably take it up to the Poconos next weekend and see how she handles.

How do you like the remote starter? Did you install it yourself. Honda makes a big deal about using other brands and how it might affect the vehicle.

the dealer installed it actually. They guy they use puts the audiovox in every one they do. So I can't imagine any problems arising the dealer wouldn't take care of. It's all off of the audiovox remote so the honda ones are still in the plastic. The only problem I've had so far is that the remote starter doesn't always want to work and I mentioned it to the dealer today. So they're going to call me back. Kind of annoying so we'll see what happens.

that's funny. I'm driving on 76 into philly one day and come across my same E. Curious as to who the driver is, I pull up along side of him and it's a guy well into his 70's. Or at least I hope it was or he just wasn't aging well. Talk about the disparity. I was about to say I never thought I'd see a senior citizen driving an E, but I know that status can kick in at 55 so I'll just say I'm surprised to see someone that could be in great grandfather status driving an E.

Add another Southwestern Pennsylvanian to the list.

I'm about midway between PEachMonstEr and Pimpn E on Interstate 70.

I commute to Wheeling, WV for work currently and have seen very few Elements on my long daily drive. About one every two weeks or so, if that... Though I've seen two in Wheeling while at work, one while I was pulling out of the parking garage - four days after I got mine - another orange one - and they beeped and waved.

Hehehe, the beeping and waving, it's true, it IS a cult (that's what my husband jokingly calls the E ownership and this forum)

Got my Element on Jan 26th and have 1800 miles on it so far.

I hear you there. Even now when I take my friend's bikes out(fat boy and a softail) I always am bike friendly to all.

My first bike was an 83 650SC Nighthawk. Popped a few wheelies before I realized how much power that thing actually had. Was an experimental year for Honda and a solid bike.

Cool! My brother and I both have 750 Nighthawks. His is a blue '93 and mine a red '03. You can't tell the difference despite them being 10 years apart. Always thought bikers were one big community, but there are divisions just like with everything else I guess, wish it weren't so. I always wave, I don't care what people ride ("just ride" we say), I think all bikes are works of art.

well hopefully you're not one of the asses bobbing and weaving through highway traffic, straddling the lane lines wearing shorts and t-shirt with your helmet half on. If I had a nickel for how many times one of them has made me slam on my brakes because they were acting like I wasn't there. Just checking in after finally getting an E! I just outside Pittsburgh (Wilkinsburg) and found a good deal on a used 03 Nighthawk Black EX. My wife thinks I'm an obsessed geek (which in all likelihood I am) due to my constant lurking of this site and talking about accessorizing my new pal. So far I have made my own bungees for the seat backs (thanks Element J!) and have ordered cell phone holder and Seidios Ipod holder, the center armrest, and the windshiled for the front hood. I plan on making the tailgate back rest and the inside curtain. Still researching keyless entry and viper alarms. Also trying to decide on trash can options. Wow...did I just say "trashcan options"? I think my wife is right. I need help.

Anyway, I see tons of e's around here. Seem to be very popular. Only a few people wave though!

Hello everyone. Just though I'd chime in and say "Hey". My wife and I live in the Lehigh Valley (Bethlehem). Just got our E yesterday. My wife thinks the E is ugly and didn't want me to buy it over the CR-V but when I told her the CR-V's at the local dealers where pretty much "pre-sold" and the E's had more room and are cheeper to boot she opened up to the idea of getting one. On Friday I took one for a test drive and the salesman suggested that we go out of our way to get my wife back at my house. So we went the nine miles to the house and picked my wife up. She took it for a spin and she liked it! She realoly liked it! She still thinks it's kinda ugly though. We got the Green EX.

It only really matters to us as owners when talking about the elements looks. I was on a sales call when a customers said "no offense but thats one ugly car". He was the owner of a Ford explorer` I couldnt really tell him what I thought while working, but I receive many more positive comments than negative ones. Too many people judge the looks and never get to see the real attributes of the vehicle.

You know your always welcome to meet. That was what was great about the east coast meet. Owners from all over were willing to drive and have a good time. The more Elements the better the meet. We must try and break the Gettysburg attendance record some time. Colin holds the distance record over our friends in Canada. Who will be next owner to claim the longest drive to a meet? To have good attendance at a meet it takes long term planning so everyone can try and make a specific date fit into their schedule. We have heard one idea for a meet, we should think about some others.

We just took delivery of our new E 2 weeks ago and my wife and I love it! My 8 year old son thinks it's just about the coolest car on the road. We are located just south of Harrisburg, PA.

My wife and I stopped in to test drive the E last Saturday and walked out with our new wheels. We love it so far (as does our Yorkie). We live in Springdale, PA...about 16 miles North of Pittsburgh.

Hey Pimpn E, we come up to Stone Villa Winery right up there on top of the hill from Mt. Pleasant. Maybe we'll see you cruisin through sometime!!

Welcome to E ownership. I am sure your finding out now how fun it is drive and probably a few stares from those around you. One of these days we will put together a meet. Possibly toward fall. Good luckwith the new E's

jimmypiper

Thanks for the welcome and the reassurance of the stares!! I thought it was just my shaved head. Actually, I was really worried when I pulled out of the dealership and a lady was sitting in her car on the other side of the highway flipping the bird in my direction. My wife later told me that the woman had broke down and was giving it to the guy behind her honking. I was really worried that some people had strong negative feelings with my E!!

A lady at the grocery store waited in her car for my wife to come out so she could look inside our E. She really liked the interior and was going to test drive one, She had what seemed to be a million questions from mileage to power and beyond.

Jimmy, with your login are you by any chance a Scot? We've already added Scottish and German stickers to our E to celebrate my wife (Monika) and my heritage. Perhaps we'll meet up at the Highland Games in Ligonier. We make it down your way quite often to hit Rustic Antiques (31 and I-70). Look for a GGM E with side steps and a Gaelic license plate.

I am not sure of the Hershey Park Schedule. I will check on it and get back to you. I'm curious on how many members might be interested in a meet at Hershey Park on a weekend in September provided they are open at this time? We would meet at an off site parking lot and convoy to Hershey Park. I am just scouting interest at this time.

Lets see how many E owners think they might be willing to meet at Hershey. We had 15 Elements this past May at the east coast meet in Gettysburg. As with all meets ,one owners best time to attend conflicts with anothers. This is not in stone, but if we would choose Sunday September 12th, how many owners would be interested in a meet up? We have two thus far.

civicway

Thanks for the response. If we get this meet moving forward, perhaps you could scout out a off lot somewhere where we all could meet. Everyone would probably want to tour "Chocalate World" but we would want to arrive all together because of the parking issue.

The park and chocalate world are to be open that day. I believe parking is five or six bucks at the park. Somewhere close where there is a large lot like a Lowes or Walmart ect would do for an initial meet Place.

HarrisburgE
07-23-2004, 11:47 AM
We have all of the above (Walmart, Lowes etc...) and I would be glad to arrange a place for us to meet. I guess it would depend on the number of cars - Walmart's lot in Harrisburg is full at most times of the day. My wife just advised me that the 12th is not a good day for us for the park. If the date stays the same, I can still help arrange and meet for the initial gathering but probably not the park. -Ken

civicway
07-26-2004, 08:44 AM
It looks like there is a general lack of interest in having a meet at Hershey. To date we only have three owners interested. We will give it several more days before dropping the proposed meet idea.

Still loving mine. Added my side steps, fogs, and the Cloud Rider. Also waterproofed my cabana, but haven't gotten to use it yet. Took the E out for search and rescue (canine) on Sunday and got it nice and muddy. A quick run to the spray and wash and a little wiping on the inside and the E was new and shiny again. I love this thing!!!

Just had to pop in to this thread and help you Western PA'ers out with some representation....

Born and raised in Pittsburgh (North Hills/Ross Township) and lived there until I was 30....moved away to Richmond, VA about 2 years ago for work. Lived in the same house from when I was born, then moved out at 18 to go to college (in St. Louis)....when I graduated, I moved back to Pittsburgh when my parents were moving to Virginia, and bought the house from them.
Finally sold it when I took a job in Richmond...sad to see it go to another family, and definitely sad to leave Pittsburgh...but money called, and the job was too good to pass up.

I'll wave if I see ya around.

There are lot of Elements in the State College area. I drive from near Altoona to State College everyday to work. There always seems to be several Elements in Lowe's parking lot. Just last evening I saw a green Element and a Silver Element in the lot. The other day I saw a red one and a kakhi colored Element. Mine is Sunset Orange.

Maybe this spring we all can meet at Hershey park.

There are a lot of Elements in Happy valley. They all seem to be at Lowe's one time or another. They all seem to wave or at least stare at other E owners. DiX Honda sales a lot of E's

Lou here...

I'm a senior at Penn State, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I also commute to Pittsburgh on the weekends to work for my parents company (and visit my girlfriend, of course). I try to wave to every E owner, but I feel like I'm the only one with that idea. The only response I ever got was from an older lady who waved out of confusion, not recognition. I have had several owners come up to me and ask if I like my E as much as they do. No complaints from me, that's for sure. I look forward to a meet sometime. State College would be a great place for a meet because of location, but I know there are plenty of other places that would be fantastic, too. My father owns a S2000 and he hasn't stopped talking about his meet with 6 other owners for a drive from 7 Springs to Nemacolin (Uniontown area).

Well LouF, I assure you you never waved to me because I would have waved back.

There's aother Bellefonte/State College owner on the boards here. I think a meet at the drive in theater next spring when it re-opens would be pretty cool...or any other meet for that matter.

My father, an active member of a S2000 club (http://www.s2ki.com), is planning a Make-a-Wish fundraiser by holding a car rally in Pittsburgh.

The date is scheduled for June 25 at 11 AM at the Monroeville Mall in Pittsburgh and all cars are welcome. If the response from the elementownersclub members is large enough, we will be reserved a specific section of the rally with ample extra spaces for late comers. Other details such as costs, contests, drawings, etc. are still being finalized.

Consider this your official early notice before the rest of the site finds out. Geocachers will be able to add this as a find, as well. Let me know via PM or email if you definitely or maybe can come. lof101@gmail.com (mailto:lof101@gmail.com)

I live in Pittsburgh and I am a proud owner of the Sunburst Orange Element and her name is "Rebel Woman." I bought the Element because my daughter bought a black one gave me a ride the first day and I fell in love it. However, last week my daughters windshield cracked on her element. My daughter asked me if I had any cracks as of yet, and I said no, but Im hearing a squeeking sounds on the dash...we will see. I phoned the dealer as to why this has not been a recall problem. Im waiting for a response from the service manager.[quote=" "]Northeast PA. Near Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. I know of three element owners where I work!! :D[/quote

Lets see what kind of Pa response we get and everyones location. We can go from there. Thanks for replying.

I almost bought my E from them, my in-laws are the owners neighbors. He gave me a nice price, at invoice, but the salesman in the showroom and manager decided not to honor it. I went to JL Freed in Lansdale after reading another member had a great experience there. They matched the price and gave me lifetime inspection/emmissions, wash with every service, discounts on parts/accessories, etc.

paulyofpa
03-03-2006, 10:02 AM
that's a shame, I went in a month before and they initially gave me a price just a little over 200 above invoice. when I was ready to buy I brought in a quote from reading that was at invoice and they matched it without question.
They are giving my lifetime inspection which is nice, but you are getting lifetime inspection and emmisions? wow thats like an extra $60 a year you might want to clarify the emissions par there.. awesome if true!

You just gave me an opportunity for a quick plug for the Make-A-Wish Rally June 25 at the Monroeville Mall. All are welcome, no matter what condition your car is in! We'll probably go to dinner afterward.

Keep an eye out for the EOC to start advertising for the event. Ridgeliners are hopefully going to be a big presence from the ROC as well.
